    Seagate has already been offering a SATA3 2TB hdd for sometime now... About time that WD came up with something and this just as well sounds promising, what with 64 MB of cache memory... Most reviews of SATA3 that i read mentioned that it would be a pointless thing for standard hdd's... Let us see and hope this would be a better thing

    Western Digital's first SATA 6.0Gbps drive has gone on sale in Japan.

    The WD1002FAEX is a 3.5-inch 1TB drive with a 64MB buffer. It runs on 7200RPM and generates just 33dBA of noise.

    According to Akiba PC, the unit costs around 85 on the Japanese market and you can check it out here.

    I agree, even in RAID 0 i dont think you can reach speeds faster than 3Gbps per second with these hard drives. two Solid state drives in raid 0 could totally make use out of the 6Gbps though.
