    Also if you use high wattage speakers or/with subwoofers, do not forget to invest into amplifiers an quality radio. Remember that you have to "feed" those speakers with power to sound good.

    Wattage is not a great indicator of speaker quality... most of the cheap ones will claim a high wattage but distort terribly at high volumes. Generally larger cones will result in better low frequency (bass) response. If you can afford it buying an amp and a subwoofer will improve bass, alternatively 6x9 inch speakers are a cheap way to inject some more bass however the quality may not impress you unless you buy expensive ones and run them with an amp.

    Does wattage affect the speakers you can use in your car?

    I have crappy speakers in my car, they don't even go below 200 hz, and im looking to install some better speakers.Does the wattage of speaker matter? The ones I have been looking at have quite a high wattage(200) and I know my crappy ones are ~120.
