I'm from North and I love cold weather when I need to work. But for retirement Southern countries would be the best. I am thinking about Spain or Caribbean! :)

I think you should retire where your money's value is high?

Assuming you work in the US and saved up thousands-millions of dollars, go retire in a country where your $ USD 1.00 = country's currency 30 or higher.

So maybe in a south asian country !

Seconded all the way. Some place warm like Sicily would be fantastic.

Aside from that maybe Barcelona. It's warm, the city is beautiful and Spanish food is awesome. What's not to like?

Italy is awesome to visit. I lived there for years, and you would not want to be part of the "system" there.
For me, Bora Bora (as long as I can get decent net!
