  • rTorrent is no longer uploading/downloading except for a few minutes at a time.

I'm using SoYouStart's SYS-SAT-1-16 running raid 0 Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS, rtorrent version is 0.9.6/0.13.6 rutorrent V3.7. What's happening is it will take longer than normal to load torrents (tested it today with humble bundle, it took about 5-10 minutes just to show up on ru), then it will just sit there (looking at the logs now HB even timed out). About every 2-4 hours the server "wakes up" from it's unwanted sleep and starts downloading/uploading again for just a few minutes, when it stops ru stops reporting and the up/down speeds freeze at the last numbers. As i was typing this RSS feed just sent a new file to the server and it's sitting there saying "already loaded" under the status bar, doing nothing. It'll eventually load and download/upload, but it's not doing it now and always.

No errors on ru log unless im doing something inside ssh (today), my computer is on 24/7 and has rutorrent loaded all the time. Download speeds for me seems to be unaffected by this issue, speedtest seems to show no issues either, except the upload speed, should be higher...

Here is my .rtorrent.rc I changed max_memory_usage due to a issue a month ago and ran perfectly fine till around a week ago, before that it ran nearly a year (11months) without issues.

I increased network.http.max_open.set from 48 and decreased network.max_open_files.set from 4096, but with the same issues. but now lowered them to 10/250 respectively, which seems to have no effect in fixing the issue. I also added logging today to try to avoid posting here.

Failed to connect to tracker url:'' msg:'Timed out'.

Except for today i have made no adjustments to files, just been deleting year old stuff to prevent a issue when the space fills up (had a KS server along with this one which caused issues at 100%). It is currently sitting at 98% with 38GB free. rtorrent is using about 2gb of ram, server never usually exceeds 10%. CPU is idling at 1-5% compared to the 14+ it used too.

I'm currently unemployed, and if i cant get it working properly before it's renewal date in roughly 2 weeks, i'll have to let it go (which i dont want to do), plus i cant waste too much time on it either, like i have today which for today is ok.

So any help is greatly appreciated, I'm usually on the computer most of the time till i find a new job, if I'm out i still can access my server on my phone.
Working...
