    hi,
I was using bitlord with about 150 files in there
I upgraded to a newer version....... the files were still there

then a couple of days later I got bitlord up only to see all the files gone...

will I ever get my downloading files back in there ?

Never used or heard of BitLord. Having said that, have the raw files been deleted, or are they still there on your HDD and it's just the entries in BitLord that have disappeared?

Maybe the database for the old version is incompatible with your new version. Might be worth checking out the developers website. If not then something may have gone wrong with the update.

May be easier to re-download the torrent files and force a re-check

Yes but when you ve got maybe 200 torrent files up therethe option of re doing them is just too much hassle.Ive been on bitlord site and sent messages to them about the prob....... no reply !Looks like Im stuffed... I ll think twice about upgrading in future

Does it not auto store your .torrent files in a directory?

Where does BitLord store its settings?

In Windows just go to Start Run and type in:%APPDATA%\bitlord\

In OSX go to Finder Go Go to folder, and type in ~/.config/BitLord/

Have you tried to, like, look for them on your HDD? I mean, just because they are not showing up in BitLord anymore could be a simple error on the programs' side.

I think you have three options.

                      1. Wait for a reply from BitLord support
                      2. Download the torrents again and force a re-check
                      3. You've been burned and had a bad experience with BitLord. Use a different client next time.

If it was me I would choose option 3 and take the opportunity to transition to a more widely used/supported/know client. I would recommend Azureus or uTorrent. Both are well known, well supported, intuitive, and on accepted clients list for almost all trackers. I have had excellent luck with both...

                        Hope this helps...

Great options. I would go for option 3 also. Possibly never heard of BitLord because as far I can remember I've never seen it on a trackers approved list. Go for Deluge. Really easy to setup and works like magic :)
