  • Best torrent client?

Hi all, I've been using uTorrent for years.. Recently (in addition to being riddled with ads), it has been very buggy (not downloading properly, won't show statistics, etc)

For a Windows user, what client do you recommend that is also friendly with private trackers?

(I'm sorry if this has been covered before, I used the Search box and I couldn't find anything).

Try jumping back to the older versions of utorrent.. The newer versions sucks. Try utorrent 2.0.4 22976.. If you still don't like it. qBittorrent is a good alternative :)
I used to think that today would never come

If you want a client other than uTorrent, I'd recommend qBittorrent. Switching back to older versions of uTorrent, namely 2.2.1, would be working just as fine. It's also encouraged by a lot of trackers.

deluge and transmission seem better suited for linux and a linux server.

He is running windows, as he stated in the OP, so there is no point in suggesting this.

what I was trying to point out is that deluge and transmission are recommended if your using linux , "not windows".

I would go Deluge on Linux & Transmission on Mac.

So, you two are suggesting to switch to a different OS?

Oops, my bad, did not read the OP carefully enough, nope uTorrent on Windows 4 sure, sorry...
Have tried moving away from the Dark Side (Windows) now & again to Linux (various distros), but always seem to come crawling back to MickeySoft, like a bad habit you just can't break, plus I have a NAS, so hence the minor experience with Deluge & the wife has Macs so I tried Transmission a few times, which was OK.

If you are interested in trying a new OS I would suggest ubuntu 14.04. When installed on a desktop it has a similar feel to windows. The transmission torrent client is also installed as a default.

Deluge, or downgrade your version of utorrent.
