Basic Description:
Bitme is a well-established generalized elearning tracker that covers a broad range of categories. If you are a fan of knowledge, information, and learning, it is an excellent tracker to have. Whenever you are looking for an informational-type torrent, Bitme is often a good place to start. Unlike specialized elearning trackers such as the .bz sites, Bitme has a little bit of everything. It is not the end all, be all of elearning trackers as some people think, but its generalized nature makes it a decent (not outstanding) asset for just about anyone.

3.) General Tracker Information
Content vs. Other Elearning trackers
Bitme is a decent general-purpose tracker, currently with around 14,500 non-dead torrents. When it comes to more specialized elearning trackers, there are many others that are far superior, as far as their specialty goes.
Theplace.bz, which specializes in seduction, dating, and other lifestyle related topics, has over 23,000 torrents, all related to this specialty. You do the math. Thevault.bz, which specializes in business, has close to 30,000 torrents related to this niche.
Bibliotik, which specializes in being an "online library", or in content that one would normally find in a library, currently has around 31,000 torrents. So as you can see, if you're looking for something specific, these are just a few trackers that have far more content.
However, its generalized nature can be a plus as well. Firstly, if what you are looking for doesn't fit into one of the more niche elearning trackers, bitme is more likely to have it. Secondly, its generalized nature makes it easier for finding new items to upload & improve your ratio. And thirdly, when compared to other general learning trackers, it has far more content, compared for example, to Learnbits, with less than 4,000 torrents.
Is Bitme Overrated?
Bitme is useful, there is no doubt about that. It also has content in some areas that is not as easy to find elsewhere. However, it is often called the "best elearning tracker", often by people who are simply repeating what they hear, or by people whose opinion is not based in fact.
The reality is that the overall volume of content on Bitme (14,000 torrents, spread over many categories) is nothing to write home about. Much of the content, such as TTC (the teaching channel), Lynda.com products, or popular applications, are easily found on Demonoid (why waste ratio on a more private tracker when you can get it from demonoid), or even public trackers.
Health/fitness, lifestyle, business, and religion/occult are dominated by the specialty .bz trackers. With over 80,000 torrents between theoccult, theplace, thegeeks, and the vault, the numbers speak for themselves.
However, in other areas, Bitme is more useful. When searching for large number random DIY BitMe torrents, I only found a fraction of them on Demonoid and Bibliotik, which shows that it does have content that is not as readily available. While much of its content is readily found elsewhere, unlike some of the more specialized trackers, it still enough to offer to make it a useful addition to your elearning list.
Again, BitMe is a good tracker to have on your list of trackers to search through. However, it is not the ultimate elearning tracker as many would have you believe.
Invites
No invites are received upon promotion. Invites are given out every 30 days, to power users and above, with a maximum of 3 unused invites per person.
Seeding
If you have a seedbox, seeding is fairly easy at Bitme. With good upload speeds, it is fairly easy to jump on new torrents and get a good piece of the upload pie that follows.
Furthermore, its general nature (anything related to education, elearning, etc), and relatively low number of torrents means that there is a lot of content that one could find on demonoid, or public trackers, that doesn't exist yet on Bitme. When I first joined, I got almost 50 GB of upload credits just from finding a few Rosetta Stone (the most well known language software) packages that weren't yet on there.
Bonuses & Freeleech
There is currently no bonus system, and Freeleech does not occur regularly; it only occurs for special, occasional instances.
Requests System
Compared to other elearning trackers, the Requests section is almost inactive. At the time of writing this review, there were only 5 requests on Bitme, compared to over 250 on Bibliotik.
