No, you are correct. Their search feature leaves a little to be desired and it is kind of buggy. Even though I seed forever, it would be nice if they would provide HnR notification, so you can know which torrents are safe to delete.

Personally, I think AB should be "ratioless" and I mentioned it on the forums. The most common response was that it was pretty much too late to go ratioless.

I want to like animebytes, but I dunno, something about it just really turns me off. For one as mentioned searching and browsing leave a lot to be desired, I typically have to go there already knowing what I'm looking for to get use out of it. And even when I know what I'm looking for, being a slightly ocd person, I am pretty anal about my subs, and often the releases they have uploaded aren't the best. Not like BakaBT, they stay on top of things and have the best release of each anime, <3 them despite not allowing a few publishing companies :(

lol today I randomly got 24 hnrs for no reason( I haven't downloaded anything in over 2 weeks) The site definitely is buggy as hell specially it's searching feature as already stated but the community is great, and they got all the content that you could want. Almost anything that you can get at bakabt you can get at animebytes you just got to give it time, it's a great site and the community will grow on you.

Totally agree. I'm new to this tracker and things work ok, but it could get better. So far it's all good.

I don't know if this just wasn't mentioned or if it's new to 2012, but the Animebytes websites has been very slow to load new pages for me recently.

It's also nearly impossible to seed most of the time because the average [seeder/peer] numbers are [15/0] or [15/1] for every torrent. You'll have to rely on their points (yen) system and donations for most of your upload.

They will get some new servers in about a month, hopefully it'll speed up the whole site overall. The peer problem however will always be there, but the yen system is quite helpful in maintaining a good ratio there. I never had any problems getting a good buffer.

I couldn't disagree more. Yes, AB could get better but definitely not by becoming ratioless.
After being member for a few weeks, i realized it ain't that hard to keep a good ratio. Just do your part, there are several ways : seeding a lot of torrents (bonus points), seeding the animes you've already got on your HD (or cross-seeding), uploading new content, filling requests, being in the initial pool of the anime of fortnight/album of the week, etc.
Once you've used it for a while and got enough content don't worry, it can keep your upload bandwidth busy.

Thanks to the current system, you've got :
- Awesome content. You will find some releases you won't find anywhere else. (Some anime/manga are missing, but all in all great content).
29 000 torrents for 7 500 users while bakaBT got 11 000 torrents for more than 30 000 users.
- Good speed. Even on poorly seeded torrents (about 4-5 seeders), i often get speeds above 1MB/s.

By becoming ralitoless, AB would become very similar to BakaBT (which is a public tracker that you can use the same way you use a private tracker).
BakaBT is great, but we don't need a second one.

Think I just might try this site, I dont like the...feel of BakaBT, plus the bonus system just plain don`t work IMHO.

The tracker is freeleech for a few hours :)
It's been a few weeks that I have been a member and the layout is great. But I also think that the search function is not really friendly.

And it's been a long time that I didn't watch anime frequently and I want to discover new anime. I find it hard to do that on animebytes, the top 10 is here but if I want to dig a little to find an anime that I might like I'll try on Animdb or something like first then on AB. It's just my opinion.

Otherwise speed is great and popular torrent have a lot of different releases if you like a particular fansub team :)
