    Default Waffles | WFL | Music | 2008

Waffles.fm was dubbed the new OINK. When it came online it had the entire torrent database from Oink minus the users. There are currently 200,000+ torrents available. Don't be fooled though, it can be hard to seed alot because there isn't much leeching going on and file sizes on full albums aren't all that big. Waffles only allows the following types of torrents: music, applications, eBooks, e-learning, sheet music, comics, audio books, and components are allowed.

Invite only. Invites open randomly activated throughout the month.

Waffles also has a new points system. Points are awarded based on a criteria that hasn't been officially released yet. Those points can be spent in the Waffles store. You can spend points on Free Leech for 24 hours, 1/2 leech, free leech for the entire site, convert a normal invite to an anytime invite, etc.

They have a request system that I used often and requests are usually fulfilled within a few weeks if not earlier.

Waffles has very strict uploading rules which can be read in their FAQ.

All the other usuals are available, forum, Top 10, etc.

Donating a minimum of $5 gets you VIP stats and 2 invites.

Waffles has a very good collection of lossless files in FLAC format. They have torrents that are "perfect rips" with a waffle iron seal of approval. Pretty much everything they have you can find in FLAC though which is pretty nice!

I'm trying to seed in waffles but no luck. Not even with SB. Great tracker but if you cannot maintain a good ratio then what's the point? They should have some karma system to purchase uploaded data or just ask to seed the torrent for 2-3 days if you cannot get to 0.5 ratio that they are asking. I know 0.5 is nothing but trust me it's still a pain getting it.

I have no problem seeding on Waffles, but that's because I upload stuff they don't have (niche music in .flac mostly). But I can understand Mortivore's problem - each of my torrents was downloaded 2 times in average. This gives me ratio ~1.0 for each anyway. Sometimes 2.0 or more if leechers choose not to seed it later. If I weren't uploading this rare shit (luckily, I've got tons of it), I'd probably suffer the same. Well.. maybe not, as they also appreciate graphics / audio video tutorials, books, plugins and apps and I happen to be a long-term user with a heavy ratio on audionews and gfxnews, so I'm kinda lucky (any other fiction or nonfiction e-books and e-learning videos are welcome as well). But if you don't have much to offer, only seeding things you leech is a long hard way. Seedbox might help a lot. I can see 'kimsufi' hosts quite often (no wonder they're frequently expected before giving out an invite - one assumes most people won't have much to offer and they're rather leechers than heavy uploaders).

I also agree they've got the first lossless quality stuff, but waffle irons approval doesn't mean a better rip - lossless is lossless, it can't be screwed up really, it's more a proof to hardcore listeners that are obsessed with details, that this is the shit but that's just by the way - more importantly, it's a way to secure your rip - when you've done it yourself and it matches their "iron" criteria and gains the approval, your torrent cannot be deleted - it's considered best possible and no dupes are allowed (they're in minority as it's gotta be your own rip). There is music nowehere else to be found, lots of it, indeed, but well.. in my case that's mostly not what I hoped to find, but hopefully I've got my sources and as I said, at least I've got something to offer.

Can't relly speak about the community as I don't approach the forums, but from what I observed you probably won't get bored if you feel like talking. People on such trackers aren't just random guys.

My advice is: you better be serious about music and seeding (donating is very welcome too) if you wanna get there and STAY there. Remember this is one of the best private music trackers (let's forget Pedro's and Exigo for a while) so it's kind of a privilage to be a member and that's why invitations don't come easy. Once you get there, be careful at the beginning not to screw it up.

Oh.. almost forgot: they've got points you gain for your actions you can exchange for various attractions including freeleeching for yourself for 24h. It's not that hard to get that one, so if you dream of unlimited unique music downloads, just work hard a little for few weeks, get the fastest connection possible, remove your porn collection to clean up some gigabytes and enjoy the ride.

It seems that obviously 99% of the people here are doing something wrong cause you seem to be the only one without seeding problems. Even Adenai that uploads that rare stuff has trouble. I love music, I play music, I have tons of music and share it. Waffles is the shit yeah I agree but seeding something you already snatched from there IS hard unless you have some kind of super secret formula you are not sharing with us :001_tongue:. Anyway it just needs a little patience to build it up. Uploaded a torrent yday around 1 GB, got snatched once then died lol. I guess that's the plan. One a day

I think what he's done is possible if you have access to TOP10 to see what torrents can give you the best uploads possible at a time. We also don't know how long he's been there (and how good his bandwidth is). Eg. audionews.ru isn't easy to share too, but with ~40gb down I have ~450gb up, BUT it took me 2-3 years ;) (max. 30kbps upload) So.. From what I've observed (without TOP10 access yet) there are some torrents, indeed, that seem to have a lot of downloads - as for Waffles - e.g. 50 or more. These are usually some very popular music or, for example, video tutorials (Lynda.com, etc.) or famous apps like Cubase, Photoshop and so on. There are torrents that people just seem to always get back to with time, no matter how long they've been up there. (eg. in case of audionews, I acheived my first ~200gb seeding only one 4,5gb VST plugin.. :) - and I guess I could do more if I didn't remove it from my hdd - it's just so good almost everyone coming in is looking for it, and there are at least few like that).

Everybody loves Waffles... I enjoy every day there. The offering and quality is amazing. There is a quality assurance team (Waffle Irons) putting their quality stamps on lossless rips in case it is perfect. Just love it.

at first i thought it was very, very hard to seed but my ratio was fine within a day, be it i havent downloaded a lot but you can't always just go for stuff you want, you gotta pick and chose when you start out to build up the ratio just like a tracker that has wait times.

also, waffles provides seeder/leecher lists so you can see if the 50 leechers it says there are are actually leeching which is very, very helpful as most people don't dl whole torrents but select files and it says they are a leecher

the audio quality there is excellent too, i didn't know it could sound so good

oh, i almost forgot, the community there is extremely helpful, my threads were answered within 20 minutes every time and included everything that would help me out.

What a good read, thanks! I was a very proud member of oink back in the days! I am so glad to hear that there is a very decent music tracker (or two) out there that managed to fill the huge void oink left! I am looking forward to trying either what or waffles out sometime.
