Bit Unity

Bit Unity is a site that is really starting to grow as of lately. For the longest time Bit Unity was a site unknown in the torrent world by choice. We never advertised and kept a low profile. For members we tend to rely on word of mouth and the reviews we get and the top torrent lists we get placed in.
At Bit Unity our goal isn't just to become another tracker that joins the other lists. What sets us apart is how we have become a community. Our warm and welcoming staff are always giving away bonus points or upload credit for being active in our shout-box. We are trying to set a better standard in the way people view torrent sites. A better standard for everyone.

Free Leech

We have quite a free leech torrents. Every torrent over 10 GB is free leech. Any Show premiere is free leech. Any Full season TV show is both free leech and Double upload credit.

This isn't free leech but we also use Silver (50% of download is recorded) and Double upload. Any torrents over 6 GB are Automatically Silver, over 2 GB is double upload. Then any movie 720-1080p are Silver.

To become power user you need 50gb upload and 1 month of being a member
For Bit Unity Vet you need 200gb upload and 6 month of being a member
Friend of Bit Unity are given to old friends or Owners/staff at other site.


Invite system.
As of just recently (a few days ago) we have become a invite only site. At the moment there is no set method to get invites, so you would have to know someone at the site, which is harder. Im sure the staff will be finding something to do about this later. However for any of you who wish to join one of my best friends (the one who got me started on private trackers) is a sysop so he can give you an invite if you would like one. Just let me know.

Ratings & Personal Commentary

Now bit unity has what many sites lack. Friendly staff and a great environment. Just recently they added a tool-bar and Radio into the equation so you can now listen to live music by a Bit Unity member as DJ.

And for a site of over 15k people the staff really seem to be a tight family. Recently the staff has been expanding but for the longest time it was a under 10 person operation. And it worked great. Yes at time the shout box wouldn't always be in full swing but if anyone ever needed help people weren't ever that far and would always respond promptly.
So community: 8.5 /10

It is really hard to find a torrent on Bit Unity not brought by a fast speed. The majority of uploads get done on seed boxes or by really fast speeds
So Speed 10/10

As for the forums they used to be one of the most active parts of Bit Unity and would easily get a 10/10 however something has happened and they have started to die off so I will demote that to a 9/10

A side note to any members, as this is my first review any constructive criticism or things I can improve would be much appreciated

I just changed the invite section. We just went private so there isnt any set way, however if you would like one I can get my friend to give you one as stated above

I like your User-Agreement on the sign-up. Putting black text on black background is the way to go I hear ;-)

Atm the owners opened the doors again, not sure for how long

I should be able to enough for anyone who wants one, but can i just ask you fill out an intro, the owners are starting to crack down on Hit and runs alot more, so i just dont want to be at risk, it is just a comfort thing

i just tried this site, although laid out well, the dearth of seeders/leechers is an issue.

Only 4,200 torrents and I'm not sure if that includes active + inactive torrents, and 3,500 peers when your tracker has over 25,000 members is a little troubling.

Now im not sure about the torrent stats, but with the members I know that includes all banned members, and there are alot of people who joined, then simply forgot about it. The Top 5 Torrent Download Sites, 2011 creates alot of traffic, and so some people just join then leave their account because they dont know better

Do you know when they shut the doors? I filled out the form to get my user name and password and then entered my e-mail. Then there was a message that told me to check my e-mail, but there was never an e-mail with a link to confirm my account. Let me know if you know anything about it.
