ElbitZ is a fantastic eLearning tracker. They do open sign-ups frequently. It is usually advertised that they will open on the 15th of each month, but they open the tracker at times a little less frequently than advertised. That being said, even without an invite (which are still disabled at this time), if you check ElbitZ around the middle of the month to see if registration is open, you shouldn't have to wait more than 3 months to find your way inside. For example, I joined ElbitZ through an open enrollment period. However, you should keep in mind that ElbitZ does employ a 15,000 user limit. So even if a registration period is scheduled to be open, it may not actually open if there are no slots available. By that same token, registration may close early if the limit is reached.

This month, October 2010, ElbitZ did undergo some important rule changes. So, if you haven't checked them out, or a review on the tracker, in quite some time, that is definitely worth a revisit.

One important note about ElbitZ is that many people complain that “upping” a torrent there is somewhat difficult and unorthodox. Having shared content there myself, I can attest to this fact. To share a torrent on ElBitZ you must first create your torrent and upload the file to their tracker. After you have shared the torrent, you then need to return to your BitTorrent client and remove the torrent from your queue. You then have to download the torrent, you uploaded, from ElbitZ and re-open the torrent in your client of choice (checking the options that shows you are the initial seeder) for seeding to begin. If you do not download the torrent from ElbitZ, your seeding will never start. This approach puzzles me, but after you have done it a time or two, you shouldn't have any problems with uploading/seeding information over at ElbitZ. Those of you who elect only to seed the content you leech should not experience anything different at Elbitz than you do in any other tracker you already use.

Elbitz does not offer a bonus system, and as of right now, I do not believe any torrents have been approved for “free leech.” That being said, maintaining a good ratio at ElbitZ isn't incredibly difficult, depending upon which categories (I have found that some are harder to maintain a 1:1 ratio with than others) you share to and from. I have found that if you're willing to keep your share open, you will eventually reach the 1:1 ratio as Elbitz seems to employ a tactic that prevents some seeders from sharing to abnormal ratios of like 5+:1. Those of you who have incredibly fast connections and would like to upload a single torrent and build up a “bank” of upload bandwidth will probably be disappointed, but for everyone else you will probably find ElbitZ seed/ratio/throttle system to be one of the more fair ones you have come across. The system ensures that anyone who actually desires to have a good ratio, can have a good ratio, as long as they are willing to leave their torrents seeding.

As with most modern trackers, ElbitZ does employ a “donation” module that will allow you to give back if you so choose. By donating you can choose to do so without being compensated for it, or you can be rewarded with “FREE” seeding GB for your donation. This is the closest thing you are to find in way of a “bonus” with this particular eLearning tracker.

Lastly, EBZ (short for ElbitZ) has one of the friendliest and most helpful volunteer staff boards I have ever come across. Maybe this is due to the nature (eLearning) of the tracker, but for whatever the cause you really will find a community at Elbitz that is not only willing to lend a hand, but who are also surprisingly good at teaching and lending information to others.

ElbitZ is now a resource rich environment to learn about internet marketing, dating, martial arts, magic, programming, photography, and much more... all of this in addition to the vast, treasure trove of IT information you can gain there. What's special about ElbitZ? Well if you asked me, I would tell you that it is a PhD replacement for maybe half of all academia.

I love Elbitz. Lots of good stuff on a range of topics. A few uploads and you are golden. Open sign ups every month, seeds are good, really good.

I love EBZ! It does go down from time to time, but is usually up on track in about one hour later or so.

You can find really good learning material there. And they open up registrations every 15th each month.

truth is this place is next to impossible for you to gain upload...yes unless you pay to play or give them uploads. This tracker is purely designed for this function. They get more then they give. If you want something forget it...unless you are willing to spend a lot of time on stuff you have no interest in. And I mean a lot of time and wasted MB. I know the game hey I know whatcd...but this place is beyond fair. The tracker acts real funny with the seeders and peers....and then they won't show you the peerlist...staff is nowhere near friendly...maybe the ones who work with members to profit...there are some there who will approach you about your ratio and fix it for you, but of course for at a price...good content...bad bad system and tracker seems rigged. go ahead if you like buying books or vids...


I'm all for sharing is caring..I would upload, but I don't cause they are so greedy and rude...impossible for a regular member to get upload unless you pay or upload...Try Amazon at least there you can get a refund if bought something you didn't like.

I can't agree with allday. Elbitz is not a hard tracker to maintain a ratio at.
