Thread: PTN (PTN) Review

Well everyone, V2 is out and I've decided to share the looks and specs with You all.
PtN V2 is now polished, refurbished and overall changed from the bottom up.



There are tons of new things to describe, I hope I'll get the most of it in this review.

As You all know PTN is a ratioless movie tracker on which upload and download ammount count as one and based on that you get promoted, which means, more you leech further you go :) (There is of course 72 hours within 7 days seeding rule)
Unlimited download slots are still active and also, anyone can upload as long as it meets tracker uploading rules.

RULES
First of all, the rules have changed and have been updated:


TEMPLATE
Template went through some hardcore coding and now it looks beautiful, there are several themes to choose, each better than previous one. Each template is uniqe in it's own way.



BROWSE PAGE
Now let's get to the main thing, BROWSE page. This is where everything changed, and where most of the coding time went to.
Movies are now better described, linked to IMDB and there is entire new layout for them.
There is also new thing called "Movie of the week", where PtN staff chosses Movie of the week and awards uploader and current seeders on that torrent.It's somehow a competition, but it grew up to be a standard part of PTN.



USERCLASSES
Userclasses haven't changed yet, but there will be some changes in near future.
There is still "pirate ranking" system, different from other sites but in a good way as I mentioned above.


FORUMS
Forums are more active than ever. Community is very much alive and active each day.
There is also "International Forums" part where users who don't speak or write english can be active and talk about almost everything.

Another thing to mention about forums is that there are tutorials which will guide you through PTN V2.0 usage, uploading etc.
This is a must for all new comers and old members.



Requests
There is again Request part of the site, where you can request a movie to be uploaded.
Note: Huge bounties on some rare movies :)


Gold and Diamond Bonus:
PTN has Gold bonus which allows you to buy some perks and few more things, it works in this way:
For each torrents, its earnings is calculated as:
0.25 * ((Torrent Size / 4GB) + 1) = Base gold per hour per torrent
Same for the torrent size: 1GB = 1, 2GB = 1, 4GB = 2, 8GB = 2, etc...
Then three extra bonuses are added per torrent:
First Bonus - 0.25 * (Seed time in weeks +1)
The seed time in weeks is + 1 which means that the first week=1, second week=2, etc...
Second Bonus - 0.1 * (Upspeed / 10k/s)
Third Bonus - 0.5 * Seeders:Leechers ratio

Gaining Gold for other activity:
Uploading a torrent - 15 Gold
Posting a torrent comment - 3 Gold
Creating a new Forum topic - 2 Gold
Creating a new Forum post - 1 Gold
Shoutbox activity - 20 Shouts = 1 Gold
IRC = 1gold/hour

With Diamonds, you can buy VIP class from 1-3 months. (25 diamonds)
You can gift them to someone, or buy a PTN medal.


As You can see, PTN has gone under some major changes and now it glows in entirely new way.
All other details that are not described in this review can be seen once you join and explore the site.
There are just to many changes to mention them all :)

I really like the look of the new v2, everything is more organized and better looking.

I think the new gray theme looks way better than this blue one, but P*N got the best site in all trackers i know now. imo.

Looks very cool comparing to other boring trackers.

This is a movie tracker. In most cases the torrents are scene, however they might be already extracted. Anyone can upload new movies, so you don't need any kind of promotion.

The website url is visible atleast on: Userclasses...

You should edit it out.

The new v2 is good，but I like the v1 better because it seems more concise

I love PtN v2 . It is awesome. No more other words . If you are on Ptn , you probably know what I am talking about
