I saw the other FTN review posted on here was a 2009 version, so I figured I would go ahead and post up a 2010 version.


INFO/REVIEW:
FTN is one of the most, if not the most, sought after tracker that exist in the torrent community today. It was one of the first trackers to implement a ratio-less system that it still uses today, as well as one of the first to establish itself as an elite and exclusive torrent tracker. Invites are very few and far between, mainly because there is no automated system of giving them out. It is generally very sporadic and rare times that a few of the higher members (admins and sysops) will decide to give out invites based on the users individually. However they do seem to be very generous and rewarding with giving invites to those who not only donate once, but are recurring donators and obviously a strong part of the community as a whole (IRC, Forums, Seeding/Leeching).

As far as content, you will not see anything on FTN that you cannot find on another tracker. Pre times are no more excellent than ones you would find on SCC, GFT, or any other site of that kind. Not only that but considering the very low amount of users on the site, most of the time the older uploads will have 1 or 0 seeders, and even the very popular torrents still usually do not get above 50-70 seeders at a time. The ONLY thing they have are pretty amazing collections/packs that are compiled and uploaded unique to the site - however plenty of other torrent trackers do the same thing.

One thing I will admit it has going for it, is the great community. Now even most other torrent sites have a good userbase to them, but the guys at FTN are very helpful, knowledgable, and all around a fun group of users to be able to spend time with.

Whats exclusive in their power user forums? Is it just like any other power user forum?

btw, I thought FTN reviews werent allowed. I maybe wrong on this though.

Good idea engineer, I removed the different logos. And with every user class, or level, you go up, a new forum opens up to you. The FTN Power forums mainly consist of offering invites and seedboxes, however its not very active to be honest with you.

Yes as you said,the pretimes are not so good..i just cross-checked the pretimes of some of the torrents uploaded on FTN with gft and damn gft was quick in all the cases!!
Then what is so special with FTN??i want to kno.

Lol, wow, what was I thinking when I was doing this, hah. I thought I had gotten them all. Thanks, it's been fixed.

Not very much other than a relatively small userbase for a 0day (arguably more secure). Some will argue that the community is the main reason to be a part of FTN, but really you'll find much more active and tight communities in a lot of the niche trackers out there.

FTN is a ratio-less 0day with a small community, which generally means slower speeds, tiny swarms and low retention. FTN lags behind most of the major 0days out there.

The only reason it's hyped so much is because of the lack of invites. Everybody wants something they can't have. It's no more leet or secure than other 0days. FTN's url is the worst kept secret in BT. As well, Brandon's (sysop) info was pre'd a few years back.

Why does this tracker's review isn't allowed?. Isn't a tracker's review can bring more user to join a tracker?. Pardon me if I'm asking wrong questions. I'm quite new in using private tracker.

Nice review, BANE. You're a honest customer of this tracker by explaining clearly about the tracker.

Well their rules express they don't want images of their site out. I'm sure they want to say reclusive as can be since there can only 6,000 ppl allowed on there. It may not give many invites but it has survived for a long time.
