Libble is one of the least mentioned trackers when I read posts where people are asking about where to get music. Perhaps it's the last tracker on someones mind. Certainly it does not rank with Waffles, or What.cd, but it still deserves it's place as a tracker providing not only a great community, but also a variety of quality music that covers a wide variety of genre's.
Libble has been around for quite awhile, runs on the Gazelle codebase, and has many features that make the site easier to navigate and find what your looking for with ease.
Above Libbles Torrent Search allows you to add various tags including blues, folk, dance, trip.hop, psychedelic, jazz, punk and lots more. Once you add tag(s) you can either provide keywords or just hit search for a more broad range of results. I have managed to find some new bands here that I have never heard of, and now enjoy quite a bit.
What are Libble Mixtapes? Mixtapes are a variety of bands (sometimes from different genres) that either go well together, are new bands to watch out for, or even obscure bands that are/where highly underrated, and much more. There are mixtapes that are voted on by users, and others that are uploaded by staff. Most if not all are always Free Leech and are a great way to discover new music, not to mention a nice way to bring up your ratio.
The community is always warm, welcoming, and helpful. While not the most active forum around there are almost always replies to any posts that are made. New users should find it easy to ask questions without worrying about getting flamed, and certainly without others judging you because of your lack of knowledge. However there are not allot of new posts. Quite of few of the posts are older, where the users seem add onto them from time to time.
The staff are helpful, friendly and approachable, which seems to be a rare thing these days.
Libble does not have all the latest scene releases, but you will always find the highest quality RIPs in FLAC, VBR - V1, V2, V0 and recently the rules changed to allow high quality CBRs, which may or may not be a good thing. There are exceptions to these rules for rare music, however, you must PM staff before uploading.
Libble is a great place to find both rare, and not so rare music.
With over 80% of the requests filled, over 12,000 torrents, uploaded by 3.500+ active users there is allot to choose from. Libble is not the biggest, and certainly not the best but it's well deserving of it's place.
As a side note, the sign ups are open at seemingly random times. It's not hard to get a new account, and it's rather easy to keep a decent ratio despite the lack of seeders on most torrents. So long as your are seeding, you are getting a better share ratio.
My advice is to download at least 1 Gig of music when you first sign up, and just seed that 1 gig for a few days. Your share ratio will go through the roof. The thing about Libble is that you get rewarded for downloading. So long as you continue to seed you will be fine, even if there are no leechers to upload too.
