Thread: Cinematik (CMK) Review

Cinematik.net is an amazing private Film tracker. It boasts a strong community of film lovers and an even stronger database of torrents. The community has strict rules as to what films can be uploaded, and strongly urges the use of .img, .iso, or VIDEO_TS format with uploads of DivX and Xvid only being allowed as a last resort if a DVD of a film doesn't exist!

While the rules seem strict, this tracker has an amazingly laid back appeal, especially with the frequented Forums, Movie of the Week, and their Gold and Silver torrents (read below for info) specials every month!

Even though I have no experience with Karagarga, which gets toted as one of the best and most extensive private film trackers on the internet, I insist that Cinematik.net gives it a serious run for its money. Also, its probably easier to keep a good ratio at Cinematik.net!

Special Features

Gold Torrents
There are a number of torrents that will periodically become promoted to "Golden Torrents". This is denoted by a gold film reel icon next to the torrent's name. What this means is this torrent is a free download while golden, thus helping to increase your ratio as its upload does count.

Silver Torrents
There are a number of torrents that will periodically become promoted to "Silver Torrents". This is denoted by a silver film reel icon next to the torrent's name. What this means is this torrent is only worth half its size (10GB=5GB) when downloaded, however still counts 100% of its size when uploaded, thus helping to increase your ratio.
*Silver Torrents tend to be very large in file size (20-150 GB's a torrent), however the fact that they are cut in half helps promote the seeding and leeching of them.

Movie of the Week
Every week a film is chosen by the staff to be promoted as the "MOTW"/Movie of the Week. As a result, this torrent is promoted to Golden status for the week. MOTW's are announced in the news section of the front page and are also represented by a banner on the browse pages that directly links to the torrent's page. There is also a thread in the forums dedicated to discussion of the MOTW.

I strongly recommend this tracker to anyone that harnesses a serious film habit or addiction as my experience with it has been nothing less than awesome, take it from a recently graduated film major!

As a result, I give this tracker a 10/10 !!!

The captain

I love Cinematik. It is my first film tracker and very easy to maintain a good ratio. Sure, the days of tons of goldens are gone but the silvers are great and MOTM is usually, if not worth seeing, a great for keeping the ratio on track for new jacks.
