Thread: EbooksShares (EBS) Review

***UPDATE*** (May 24, 2011) ebooksshares.org is being transferred to ebooks-shares.org. Both sites are operational during the transition period. New content is only being uploaded to the new site, but most of the old content has not yet been transferred. Right now, there are 4,660 torrents on the new site (vs. 32,001 on the old site). I will update this review when the transfer is complete.

Bonus/Karma Points
There is no algorithm for earning bonus points posted anywhere on the site. From personal experience, I know that they accumulate quickly. :001_smile:


Social Groups


The community is pretty active, and the moderators are dedicated. There is a newsletter every month, mainly encouraging you to donate money, but sometimes there are also small competitions or quizzes. Also, if you are into military, arsenal, battles, etc., there is a great niche for you.

Many of the site's problems have to do with the platform they are using; this of course doesn't affect your actual torrenting experience, but you can not search for words with 3 letters or less, nor can you search for multiple words (it automatically finds torrents with ONE of those words in it, and you can't specify otherwise) or a phrase (the system automatically changes quotation marks to " and then ignores them).

All in all, EBS is your one-stop eLearning shop with thousands of ebooks, audiobooks and movies, all for your learning pleasure.

This tracker helped me very much with my bachelor's thesis work. Thanks them!

Anybody know what their selection of college textbooks is like?

I second Moose45's query. More generally, how many alive torrents are in the "Educational eBooks" section. Great review btw!

There are currently 4569 torrents in the educational ebooks section. It's impossible to answer how many college textbooks there are, but I would say thousands. However, the site is currently in a period of transition -- any new content is being uploaded to the new site, and the old content is being very slowly transferred over.

Yeah, does this one stands out against bibliotik?
