PureTorrents

PureTorrents is an eBooks tracker that tracks non-fictional books. It does not provide audio-books or any video learning material. As the name implies, pure eBooks in PDF format.

User interface is on spartan side :001_smile: Nothing fancy at all. Just navigation and site related stats.

This is the main attraction of this tracker :001_smile: Since only single English language eBooks are allowed to be uploaded (no packs or collections), the number of torrents is rather impressive.

Torrent Categories



PureTorrents does not organize torrents by category. Instead, you can associate tags with your uploads. It is a little unconventional, and, IMHO, not very user friendly.


Browse Page


All torrents are essentially in one big category :001_smile:. You can sort torrents by time added, size, name, number of seeders or leechers and number of comments. Again not many choices.

Forums


As far as forums (community) go, there is not much :001_smile: Not much at all. If you are looking for a tracker with vibrant community, PureTorrents is not your choice.

Rules


This tracker has the shortest rule set I have ever seen

User Classes
PureTorrents does not have different user classes based on ratio

Torrent Upload



The upload system is based on ISBN number. Book details are filled automatically, based on that number.

Something special about the tracker

As the name states, this site is about torrents, eBook torrents to be more specific. Tech Science related eBook torrents to be even more specific. Your DL/UL stats are kept in your profile, but as far as I know, as long as you seed your torrents, your ratio does not really matter :001_smile: Anyway, I managed positive ratio, downloading only books I wanted, no buffer at all.

So, why bother with this specific torrent tracker? First - it is open signup (at least at the time of this writing). Second - it has a relatively good selection of books, especially new releases. Third - even though seeding is not enforced, most of the books are well seeded.

This site has been down for a while.
Does anyone have any info on what has happened with it?
