Does one even require an account to download these days? I recall needing to have an account if you wanted to d/l something on demonoid, but not anymore?
Personally I think it's the worst private tracker that's so popular. Yes you can find a lot of stuff there but all the torrents I've dl'ed from there so far were poorly seeded. They really need to implement a proper system to log traffic and oblige members to maintain a ratio.
Started on demonoid due to comic book torrents, they lost some of the more rarer stuff when it almost closed, but it's getting there again.
it's by far the best international tracker, because of the imense number of torrents (310.000)....the download speed is smaller than most private trackers, but you can find anything there
Demonoid says they update trackers once a day - lies, I say!
The tracker for Demonoid is what led me here. I typically only upload about a gig each day to the site, but after a while I noticed my ratio did seem to be any different and I hadn't downloaded anything new, just upped. I started keeping track of the actual numbers, and after three weeks - only a 0.02 GB change! :cursing:
I've been involved with two other private trackers for a couple days now, and already I can tell their system is way more accurate.
It is a great tracker, the content is amazing. The only downside is the upload count. I downloaded a torrent of about 5-6 GB and uploaded over 200 GB on that torrent. It countet only around 20 ... I tried to contact the staff about my issue, but I didn't receive a respons. Anyway, it is a good comunity and you cand get very easy an invite code.
At the time it was a great step up from mininova and tpb and I still seed there. But the downtimes seem to happen every night and no ratio is a haven for leech crazy mofos.
By far my Fav General tracker. Only downside is atm its hard to get people to seed things. I posted a Cinema 4D 11.5 and I got 90 downloads in 2 hours but only 1 oher seeder besides myself. I think the monthly registration thing has killed Demonoid
