Thread: JPopsuki (JPop) Review

Known as the What.CD of J-Music (Japanese Music: J-Pop, J-Rock, etc), and for good reason.



Running on Gazelle and embracing high quality more over everything else, the great thing with the tracker is that it not only encompasses albums and singles, but also music videos, DVD releases for music, subtitles for music videos, and more.

Be sure to look at the rules before uploading anything, and make sure you at least understand the difference between various formats and how to transcode correctly if you're unaware of this.

Also be aware that no Western releases are allowed on the site, this includes Japanese albums that were released in America.

From the rules:

"Nothing Western is allowed on this tracker. This inclues also all western releases of Japanese artists! So no UTADA, no US album from BoA or releases from other artists that have been licensed in the west by labels like GanShin and the likes."

The community of the site is quite welcoming, with lots of activity on the forums and IRC, and new torrents being added all the time.

English is the main language spoken on the site if you're wondering.

There's also competitions going on, as well as some very nice touches such as JPopsuki TV, which streams music videos (J-Pop, J-Rock, Experimental music, etc) for all users to be able to enjoy if you're unable to torrent something from your current location (or if you just want to enjoy some streaming goodness).
This can be accessed easily via your web browser or through VLC or WinAmp and other players that support it.

Thankfully it's also not impossible to be able to keep a good ratio too; there's freeleech torrents, and Bonus points can be accumulated.

Definitely the best Japanese/Korean music tracker out there; amazing for your more weeabooish cravings. Do be warned, though, that drama occurs at the drop of a hat. Stay out of the forums unless you need to.

This tracker definitely the best for Asia Music. All I ever need to find all those music I wanted which is not possible to find at where I live.

It's a pretty decent tracker, probably the best for Japanese pop. Speed depends on the popularity of the artist, most of the time you need some patient, though, unless it's a new release then it's pretty fast.

Agreed that the forums are fulll of unnecessary drama and fandom wars, so I'd give the community a lower rating.
