Thread: StoreTheNet (S*N) Review

Well, it was requested and as a very new member to the tracker I already had a plan to write a review about the site.....
well what can i say, I will start of by saying 1 thing..... this tracker is AMAZING!!!!
and here is why.....

Before we start lets take a look at the site's logo.....

The tracker is very new, only several days old, however despite this the staff have managed to make a success of it so far..... with only jst over 1500 members the tracker has almost 5000 torrents, with MANY added hourly by the site's friendly bots......

The speeds on the site are also very good, to my knowledge they use one 1gbps server and one 100mbps at the moment, although I know that the number will be increasing....(WOW)

The torrents currently on offer are 0-day scene and cover a wide (but very popular) range of categories.....
including HD for the HD nerds out there! :p



The site has access to a number of topsite (as far as i am aware) and is able to offer amazing pre times..... most of them are under 5mins however many are under the 1min mark!!!!

However, if you have chosen to read this review you are probably here for the juicy features this tracker has to offer; that NO other tracker has......

***'s request systems are just amazing..... all I am going to say is that you can request ANY scene released content and the bots will get it for you and upload it to the site.
You can also request stuff from rapidshare and the bot will make it into a nice little torrent and also post that on the site..... HECK it will even download a torrent for you from ANOTHER tracker and post it onto ***, so there is no need to ruin ur ratio on another site......

The following info is jst abit more about the different request systems taken from FSF.

1. DDL Requests — Members can request direct download links from file hosters. It works like this: You make a request in IRC here for a file from RapidShare, MegaUpload etc, (and supply the link) and StoreThe.net will download it for you using premium accounts, and turn the release into a torrent on the site. Great for those who don’t possess premium accounts and want to bypass freebie DL restrictions. Currently, *** features 8 of the most popular hosters - the service is automated through their IRC channel

2. P2P Requests — This will certainly ruffle some feathers in the BT scene - *** takes requests from other trackers. For example, say there’s a particular torrent pack that you want to download from Waffles.fm (or anywhere else), but can’t afford to blow out your ratio. Simply supply the link to the .torrent file, and *** will download the torrent for you, and post it on their own tracker. (At the very least, you’ll need to have accounts to the trackers in order to be able to supply *** with the proper torrent link). However, there’s another request alternative:

3. Scene Requests — *** takes direct scene requests. Here’s how it works: Simply provide the name of a proper scene release (i.e. "Drag.Me.To.Hell.DVDRip.XviD-iMBT") and request it in their IRC channel

Fianlly I would just like to add that *** also has a bonus system like most good trackers out there as well it being ratio free!


Pros:
VERY friendly staff
VERY fast pre times
Nice content
AMAZING features


Cons:
The site is currently in what i would call beta, so there are still bugs etc lurking around (which is why signups are closed atm). HOWEVER the staff are working on them day and night as well as constantly adding new features to both the tracker and IRC.

This tracker is deffinetly one to watch out for..... in my opinion its wayyyyyy better than most top level trackers, even with its bugs!

I have not added any info/SC of the forum as it is currently dominated around bug submissions and suggestions for the site, so not that interesting for non members.

This tracker sounds amazing, P2P requests and scene requested that are downloaded and uploaded on the spot? Yes please.

On my list (in order)

1. IRC channel key's or otherwise lock down irc to members only. (ETA Sat/Sun)
2. SSL for HTTPS site browsing and downloading (ETA Mon)
3. Add additional languages (Swedish, Spanish, Dutch) (ETA Wednesday)
4. Sortable torrent list (Via seeds, leechers, etc) (no eta)
5. Set default browse categories or a separate browse section for music and 0day apps (no eta)
6. Remove redirect/wait message. (Removed for site, will do on forums) (eta 1-2 weeks)
7. Add mac category (Eta, as soon as an uploader of mac shit applies)

There's more, thats just a small list.

they are currently having problem with the connectivity, a lot of users aren't connectible, has to do the the bot uploaders peer thing, so they are fixing that right now.

A lot of users also have signed up then decided to leave there account after their verification email, about 500 users or so, so all those are getting prooned today the admin said.

Also the bots are getting over loaded, so I heard him talking about deleting some of the old torrents, till they get more boxes which I heard

RSS feeds are also being worked on since they are functioning right.

I recommend this site. There are now over 3,000 users and over 6,000 torrents. The content is great. Get in when you get a chance. I got lucky. I kept refreshing the registration screen over the past few days and managed to get in when someone got pruned. Good luck!

just got in. looks promising to me. just like everybody said, design looks clumsy.

this tracker is quickly becoming one of the better places on the net. i wish you could make requests without donating though.

I'm a member here and I have to say that the speeds on the downloads are really impressive.
It has almost everything new on the scene you could want, but some stuff gets missed out, like 1 or 2 shows, but you can just request those in the appropriate place and get it easily, and next time it'll appear by itself.
Remember that this is a new tracker, but it's grown amazingly fast and well in such a short amount of time.

I should also point out that the pretimes on the releases are amazing.
Definitely one of the best out there.
