    Tracker Description
SceneAccess is a scene tracker which has been around for a long time. As well as scene movies, TV, games, music and apps, it has made a (somewhat half-hearted) attempt at also providing P2P TV and Movie releases. As well as the standard torrent tracker features like a browse page, forums and an IRC, SceneAccess features a movie index, and pages for browsing TV, movie and music charts. There is also a wiki with information about the site and a bit of information about the scene and bittorrent in general.

The tracker has a standard ratio system, but some categories are freeleech (see Freeleech section).

The site is well-organised and has a very nice design.

Pretimes for the site are widely regarded as good, and speeds on torrents are usually excellent.

    Ratings & Personal Commentary

The last SCC review, made only a year ago, got perfect 10 scores on everything, and I have no idea why.

Maybe there are some people out there who love the scene and use scene content religiously. In real life though, more and more people are moving to various P2P group and internal releases for things like movies and TV, because in general, from a quality perspective, scene releases are crap. Not only this, but the choice of scene content is much, much smaller than the choice of non-scene content. There really is, in my opinion, no reason to choose scene releases over any others, and no reason for a tracker which specialises in the scene and little else, to exist.

It's a shame, really, as the tracker seems like a well-run, smooth operation and has been well thought out. The site has some nice features, like charts for music, movies and TV and an index of movies. In the past they've had functionality to bet buffer on sports events, which is quite fun, even if you weren't going to use that buffer. Someone on the SCC staff is a very good graphic designer, and while I don't use the site as other trackers meet my needs better, I do like to visit it every so often to look at the latest stylesheet. The design was recently overhauled to a completely new layout with a sidebar, which is really slick. The gazelle trackers could learn something from this tracker about graphic design (I'm looking at you, BTN). It's also relatively easy to seed on this tracker, which is a positive for newbies.

It's a bit of a shame, because there's clearly been a lot of thought put into the tracker, and a lot of talent on the staff team (despite, in my experience, lazy moderation of the forums), but IMO it's gone to waste as the content just isn't there. I would say that this tracker has had it's heyday, but has unfortunately become outdated, alongside the scene itself. With the rise of IPT as an easy to get into site which has almost everything (if you're not too fussy about quality), and the rise of the gazelle trackers as places where you can get even more and know the quality is going to be good, scene trackers in general, and SCC, are just no longer relevant.

    5/10 Content
You'll find vastly more of each type of content on specialist trackers. BTN has close to 150k TV torrents compared to SCC's 38k. PTP has 120k movie torrents compared to SCC's 10k. What.CD has close to 2 million music torrents compared to SCC's 60k. The selection just isn't there compared to the competition.

If you're after scene content only, then you would probably rate this higher as it's got a comprehensive selection of scene torrents. For that reason I've given it a 5 and not a 2 or a 3. But, the scene is outdated. It's got a limited selection, and what it does have is just not very good quality. As this tracker is not just a scene tracker, I'm comparing it to other trackers which don't exclusively feature scene torrents. In that comparison, it just doesn't cut it for content selection or quality. If you compare it to other scene-focused trackers, you may find it scores higher.

Even if the trackers mentioned above are out of your reach, IPT has pretty much all the content that SCC has plus a lot more. On the other hand, you don't have to deal with IPT's shit (peer stealing and other-tracker-DDoSing, cash grabbing, arseholes for staff) and awful, awful, awful, awful, awful graphic design on SCC. Did I mention that IPT had awful graphic design? It honestly makes my eyes bleed.
    9/10 Speed
Download speeds are generally high, and pre-times are fast too, if you're into that sort of thing (as you may have guessed, I'm not).
    4/10 Community
What I have seen of the community has not impressed me. Lots of shitposting. Lots of users with sexist avatars, people being unfriendly to others, and people posting bigoted or sexist content which goes unmoderated. I haven't used the forum a whole lot so I could have gotten completely the wrong idea, but first impressions are everything, and the impression I got was that this was not a forum I wanted to take part in. Others in past reviews said the forum is very good, but it has definitely reduced in activity since then (compare the 29,000 posts in general in 2011, to the 33,000 posts now), so maybe it has also decreased in quality as people move away to greener pastures.

The forum is not dead but nowhere near as active as on some other trackers. I'd say it has a medium level of activity.

I have not sampled SCC's IRC so I cannot comment on it.

I feel like this is based heavily on your bias for non-scene content.
I understand that you are not a fan of "the scene", but for all purposes, this site is designed for exactly that, and that's the main reason why someone would try to get an invite there. For the scene content it provides, the speeds it offers for them and the pretimes, it's unmatched. That is where your review should be more targeted at - for what the site aims to do and the extent to which they offer it.

Well, as I said in the review, this is not solely a scene tracker and I reviewed it as such. Yes it's biased, as are all reviews. The last review gave it 10/10 in everything for crying out loud!

I will admit that as someone who doesn't consume scene releases I might not the best person to do this review, but I was asked to do it, and with the lack of people willing to do reviews or post on this site at all nowadays, at least the review has been updated.

I used to like SCC a lot. But they don't make anything freellech anymore and I rarely use it now. They used to have a great archive which was all freeleech. Now NOTHING is freeleech unless you donate. It's next to impossible to keep a good ratio there unless you donate to get freeleech even if you try to cross seed.

Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, Moldova, Morocco, Pakistan, Romania, Syria seem to be the banned countries. Found it on a forum thread there.

Invites to SCC are really rare these days. Members only get invites when donating.

They have a strict no reactivation policy on accounts disabled due to inactivity. And the inactivity period is short.

Do they have a statistic for the number of active users? Would be curious to know what that is.

The inactivity period for users is 42 days.
For scene captains and above it's 90 days.

After that a total deletion of your account will automatically be done and you will not get it back. Period.

VIPs and donors are exempt from this rule and will not be automatically removed.

They don't show stats like number of users etc. on the page.

I suppose 42 days is long. But how strict they are regarding reactivation is harsh. I have been able to recover accounts for sites that these days I think are better compared to SCC in probably every way after an extended hiatus I had very easily thanks to human staff active in their IRC channels.

How long will SCC be down? Or did they change their domain? I feel like I have missed something
