Yes, it is really one of the largest trackers. Huge collection of movies of all formats (DVD, DVDrip [DivX/XviD], DVDRip [x264], BD-Disc and remux, HDDVD-Disc and remux, 1080p rip, 720p rip, SATRip, TVRip, VHSRip, IPTVRip, LDRip). One of strength sides is very very strict requirements for releases and their descriptions. For example, for all the rips and custom DVDs samples must be uploaded, screenshots for all movies must be not less than 3 pcs and only in original size, there are size limitations for posters; all lossless music must be made with given settings and log is must; there are limitations for minimal x264 encoding parameters; name of movie release must contain original movie name, russian name, year of production, director both in russian and english, genre, format and types of translation, and all of the fields in correct order with specified brackets and spaces, and son. Similar requirements take place in any part of the tracker. If any film appears in better quality old release is deleted.
The tracker is also rich in music videos.
For using it you do not need to know russian - search & downloading must be clear for everyone.
Important: don't write there in any language other than russian otherwise you are going to get banned!

Also they have introduced time bonuses system not so long ago.

For every 3 hours of continuous seeding you get 1 time bonus, 6 hours — 2 bonuses, 24 hours — 8 bonuses. For each downloaded torrent you lose 10 bonuses. So more bonuses you have, more torrents you can download per day.

That's true, Russian and Ukranian ISPs has really good upload speed. Anyways this is my first and currently most used tracker. For those who uses it i recommend install greasemonkey script (for firefox) to remove all nasty banners, images and flash. just look for rutracker.org (or torrents.ru) on userscripts.org. It makes rutracker looks very good !
