Thread: AlphaOmega (AO) Review

so, i've heard good and bad things about AO. currently I'm on IPT, TL, SCC, and PTM, as far as general/ratioless trackers are concerned (torrent damage as well) and, am wondering if i'm already on these, is it worth it to go after an invite?

personally, i'm not too impressed by PTM... I really don't like the functionality of the site itself, not to mention the lack of users/seeders/leechers. Ideally, I would like to be apart of GFT, but that seems hard to come by as of late. Perhaps AO is a good alternative? Also, whats the word on LFM or RevTT? More accurately, in an AO, PTM, LFM, FYT and RevTT world, which tracker would be the best to be apart of? Which of these are non-essential?

I would say, given the trackers you have, getting an invite to AO would be pointless. When I gave my thoughts on this place a week ago I was pretty much on the fence about it, but since then I've come down on the negative side. There simply isn't enough content being uploaded to the site. Yesterday there were less than 10 torrents added and none of those were site uploads. There does appear to be a hard core of users that are determined to make the site work, and credit to them for that, but they're very much swimming against the tide. Like you I'm also with IPT and find that has much better content.

btw, I know what you mean about GFT. I'm also on hold waiting to see who gets that particular invite.

Well, joined AO a few days ago an after my first woohoo... cool site impression, I have to recognize, that's not much going on there atm. Layout and some features are really nice, but not much uploads and a dead shout box. Forum seems to be dead too. No answers, if you got a question from staff, actually I've never seen there a staff member, since I'm there. It's sad, because actually I see a lot of potential in AO.

Was it always quiet like this or what happened? Anyway, I will stick around a little and login from time to time, but if they want to keep this tracker alive, they surely have to change something.

i already received it from a thread in 55% g-a forum... so I hope YOU get it instead. and thanks for the advice; i'm glad i listened and held out for GFT, its awesome how much scene stuff they have---0 day mp3s too, a lot of them surprisingly.

What's going on with AO?

Well, it's been a rough couple months for AO, that's for sure. AO had a good thing going with Rapidspeeds, but when they went down, we lost all our servers all in one day. Was a bit much. Then I moved, and now I'm dealing with my wedding.

So, yes, I've been very busy and not much has been happening, but since I'm back now. And I'm getting ready to get AO back up and running, we've decided to go with some 10/10 GigE servers and see if we can't get AO some good pre times.
We have a few ideas and it should be good to go in another week. We're just waiting on the new server
I'll update this page when I'm not hungover and don't have to leave in 2 minutes to go check out limo's for my wedding.

Well, from what I've heard, out auto should be up in the next 24 hours. Assuming everything goes correctly.
We should be obtaining our new server in about an hour and then after that we'll get it all running with the latest pre's and such

it's a good website step by step it will be more good

I've been a member of the site for about a month now, it's a pretty good site but can be a hassle sometimes if you want things over a week old. Needs more time to flesh out I think.

At present there are still no site uploads coming through, and only a few user uploads each day, so it's not really worth getting excited just yet. Obviously promises have been made about the new servers etc., but until they actually happen there's very little to recommend the site (except the nice colour scheme).
