It is NOT impossible to keep a good ratio, however. I have 100 GB buffer without a seedbox, although it took time.

Also, old staff picks are still freeleech when new staff picks come out, so that info is false as well.

This is a tracker for people who love music and want to download and explore music they love, Not for torrent addicts looking to brag about a ratio and have the majority of their snatches be things they will never listen to.

If you seed your torrents you will easily be able to get all of the music you could ever want, which in my opinion is the point of a music tracker.

I absolutely love this tracker, I believe it is 10 times better than waffles for getting your music fix since it is highly organized and their related artists section on every artist's page is invaluable (Although I used waffles to get a bunch of big audio software torrents during their freeleech which was really nice and I couldn't have done that on what)
Bullshit is in your head boy.

    staff.picks torrents: 417 Results
    freeleech torrents: 28 Results

Except popular torrents/artists, every new 2011 V0 music torrent has ~25 snatch, 90% of them using seedboxes. On new 2011 flac torents, less leechers but same story. In both cases they jump on torrents in first 5 seconds after uploaded.

I'm seeding my torrents for months and I have a very good speed but these are not the only things that matter in keeping a good ratio. I explained that in the old review but I won't bother to do that again for someone like you. Also nobody here said that this tracker is not great or that it is impossible to keep a good ratio.

Seeding your torrents is not an advice and I didn't ask for one . Also I don't care how much buffer you have. Please don't post again if you don't have something smart or useful to say.

I really don't care about the source of the problem. Whether seedbox are the problem or not is irrelevant in my eyes.
    1) The required ratio is very low as long as you seed everything you snatched. Unless you want to download 100's of GB, you don't even have to upload that much. Until the 20GB step, the required ratio is 0.
    2) It's hard to stay up to the standards of this community, but that's what I love about it! I filled 15GB worth of requests with things I found online. Uploaded more than 20 torrents with stuff I found online. IMHO, a community is about giving and receiving. Not about downloading then waiting for that ratio to go up.

I love What.cd: the organization, the quality, the diversity, the quantity... And as they say on the login page: "You've stumbled upon a door where your mind is the key". I like that it's not possible to buy your way up at What.cd. The only thing you can do is contribute.

How do you know the # of people using seedboxes on trackers? I always here people saying that certain trackers are mostly seedbox users I wonder where you get this info. Thanks

I recently started little tutorial on “Tips and tricks” that I hope will be useful for some to review before going to take that interview. This will allow you to be somewhat familiar with what to expect during the interview process. Here is the link:

    What.CD interview: TIPS and TRICKS

I would like to question one of your statements though. You are saying that “Unfortunately you cannot ask for invites on TI, but you can take an interview on the IRC”. Is that true? The item No 11 (see below) of so called “Golden Rules” of the tracker suggests the opposite:

    What.CD's Golden Rules

    • Do not defy the expressed wishes of the staff.
    • Access to this website is a privilege, not a right, and it can be taken away from you for any reason.
    • Staff decisions are final. Arguing about our decisions is hazardous for your account.
    • One account per person per lifetime. Anyone creating additional accounts will be banned.
    • Avatars must be safe for work, non-pornographic or semi-pornographic, and not even slightly offensive. Use common sense.
    • Do not post our .torrent files on other sites. Every .torrent file has your personal passkey embedded in it. The tracker will automatically disable your account if you share your torrent files with others. You will not get your account back. This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file.
    • This is a torrent site which promotes sharing amongst the community. If you are not willing to give back to the community what you take from it, this site is not for you. In other words, we expect you to have an acceptable share ratio. If you download a torrent, please, seed the copy you have until there are sufficient people seeding as well before you stop.
    • Do not browse the site using proxies or TOR. The site will automatically alert us.
    • Trading, selling or offering invites in public is strictly prohibited, and will get you permanently banned.
    • Trading, selling, sharing, or giving away your account is prohibited as well. PM a mod to disable you if you no longer want it.
    • You're completely responsible for the people you invite. If your invitees are caught cheating or trading/selling invites, not only will they be banned, so will you. Be careful who you invite. Invites are a precious commodity.
    • Attempting to find or exploit a bug in the site code is the worst possible offense you can commit. We have automatic systems in place for monitoring these activities, and committing them will result in the banning of you, your inviter, and your inviter's entire invite tree.
    • We're a community. Working together is what makes this place what it is. There are well over a thousand new torrents uploaded every day and sadly the staff aren't psychic. If you come across something which violates a rule, report it! Ignoring it is only damaging the community.
    • We respect the wishes of other sites here, as we wish for them to do the same. Please refrain from posting links or full names of sites that want not to be mentioned.
I think some clarification of the matter would be useful for our community.

There are invites on What, but you cannot give them away on non-class-restricted forums. This means that you cannot request them unless you're a VIP on TI.
You can ask and receive invites to What in the TI VIP forum.

But to tell the truth, what's the point? Just take 1 hour to understand the basics of digital music and take that interview on IRC. Simple as that.

I forgot that you can invite people if you are a VIP member on here, but that What.cd link you posted has nothing to do with that. I don't understand why you were confused.

What.cd is my favourite tracker. Took me forever to get in but I am not disapointed.

I agree with those saying its hard to gain ratio, all my upload has pretty much come from my own rips.

Yeah unless you you only plan on dling 5gb or under I really don't see how you could survive without uploading your own content. That aside, it's a spectacular site.
