As I sometimes have a hard enough time dealing with utorrent right on my on computer! lol

perhaps i'm being a bit dramatic, but I would definitely like to be pointed towards a user-friendly seedbox (not to mention quality one) along with a well written user guide for n00b b00bs like myself.
i highly recommend whatbox. you download what you grabbed in the box from ftp or in the folder itself but not full folders like you can on ftp. they also run on linux so any linux script you can run on it. im crappy with linux so i didn't do it..i did however tried. they have an irc if u need to ask a question..very helpful too

sounds decent enough. perhaps a youtube video on using this technique of "you download what you grabbed in the box from ftp"? LOL.

seriously, I'm sort of lost on how that works---the maintaining of a torrent client and downloading torrents remotely. Is it like you have full control of the torrent program as if you were at a console hooked to the server, or is it more like you mentioned, connecting to an ftp remotely and setting shit up? Or do these seedbox jobs come pre-configured?

    thanks.

i use Flashfxp..pretty easy to use.

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD6wrxnyXqY

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdHzyRQ0s7Q

    its free as well

and it shows all your info in manage/info port number..and your pass to the whatbox is the pass to the ftp..and your whatbox url for ftp is in the info section..if you get confused you can always speak to them on the irc channel which they tell you how to get to it on the main page.

This is the best tracker I have for music. One bad side. It's damn hard to seed. :P

Like I tell everyone else, if you upload your own shit it's not bad at all. It doesn't matter how obscure you think it might be... If it's not already on there, up it! If it's a FLAC, 320, 0r V0 you'll probably get an automatic hit, because people with seedboxes set there client to download new torrents instantly.

Edit: Gonzo beat me to the punch;)

Great tracker for sure. A buddy of mine had it for a few years finally was able to send me an invite. There very coveted! I can see why. You really have to put effort in keeping your ratio up. I have a lot of respect on that website for people who are power user and up! its HARD work, well not hard if you know what your doing but its very much like a hobby, too enjoy it too the fullest you have to put time and effort into it!

Very well said! IMHO, there are two reasons why it's so awesome:
    1) Great staff, great rules, everything is enforced and they don't let anything go to waste.
    2) It's so hard to seed that it's almost a prerequisite to upload stuff there. Therefore, there's a lot of music!!!

What.cd is a tracker for people who want to share: give and take. There are few people who manage to maintain a decent ratio without uploading (or a seedbox).
