What.cd has a better torrent selection and more user-friendly interface. Waffles has better forums and it feels a little more like Oink, for some reason. I like them both.

I've been at what.cd for a bit, and while I love it, jesus christ is it hard to keep a good ratio going.
I've uploaded like ~20 torrents, but I only have around 7 GB up. What ends up happening is that seedboxes first grab my files and then I don't upload to anyone else, since the boxes are taking all of the connections.
I definitely agree that Waffles is the friendlier tracker, but not as much as you would think if you just listen to what people say about the IRC interview and things like that. First of all, the IRC interview is NOT as difficult as it sounds from their study page. It is definitely passable, and a little bit of reading up doesn't hurt you. It's great that it is such a difficult tracker to get into, because that just means that there are more contributing members and less leechers. Also, the download speeds are great there. It is difficult to maintain a good ratio without a seedbox, which is why I would LOVE to get some time with one, but it is definitely doable. A lot of people jump on these sites with difficult to maintain ratios and go on a download binge. If you are selective from the get-go, it is quite easy to maintain.
I have been a member @ what for a few weeks and i think its a great site. I mean, im not a great music buff or anything of that sorts but i needed a music tracker and was looking for waffles or what. Now that i have what its great. I like the gazelle system that groups the torrents. As i understand waffles uses a system similar to most trackers basically no grouping. I cant imagine how user friendly that is for a music tracker. @ what its very clear. Just type a artists and you get all uploads of that artist sorted and all.
they have different templates, when i joined i got this template and what was really slow. so if you experience the same thing i suggest changing templates cause there is a difference in browsing experience.
seeding is quite difficult, i myself do not own a seedbox but i do have my computer on 24/7 and everything i have downloaded from what is currently still seeding. Giving me a ratio of about 1.5 and about 5 gb up. and allot of the seeds are old uploads so if you would focus on new downloads and seed those 24/7 you will be alright.
I have seen my brothers what.cd account and from what I can tell after looking through it for an hour - it appears to have pretty much everything one could ask for. His ratio is ok, but he does have his computer on pretty much 24/7.
Aside from music it also seems great for apps and learning vids.
Guess I better start preparing for the interview!
iWaffle has it spot on. What.cd is accessible. The entrance interview was just fine for anyone who is familiar with torrents and audio codecs. I do still think that waffles is a more friendly community and since I already have a good ratio going there I have the ability to be a little less selective than I have to be when using What.cd. They are both the top music trackers IMO.
The interview is not that hard and after you queue it takes about 30 minutes to get started.
I did the test and I was the only one at the moment so my test started A.S.A.P.
Really, trust me, just read it couple of times, and click on the provided external links for a little bit more information. If you are experienced in music conversion and compression then you only need to concentrate on Golden Rules.
They want you to use your own words rather than saying everything exactly as it is written in the guide.
