    Default Endangered Tracker SubForum

    Endangered or Closing Trackers SubForum:

I'm sure we've all attempted to log into a tracker only to find that it has gone belly up and we just missed the notice.

    Purpose:
Help trackers stay alive through donations, activity, etc.
Get those bookmarked torrents you keep putting off
    Take advantage of final freeleech
Find out if other sites are taking in "refugees"

    It's a simple idea to incorporate. I don't see a downside.
If it isn't used much, it can easily be removed.

My Giveaways: 50 or so Trackers, Misc Invites
My Competitions: IRC Lotto, IRC Raffles
Other OD Links: IRC Command List, How To Play Lotto,
    In Search Of: Zucchini
Thanks to Choppers for repping me in

I don't think it's necessary, but I also don't think it's a bad idea. I like to picture a time when the torrent trackers all have a fairly favorable view of T-I. Not only would this help the torrenting community as a whole by raising awareness about threats that any of our number are experiencing, but it would show that we care not only about ourselves but about the trackers as well.

    I have two concerns:

    1) It may not be used very often, simply posting this type of thing in announcements may be sufficient.

    2) This may cause people to *stop* donating to the tracker. People don't want to spend money and then have a tracker close right after they donate.

I'm torn, because I can think of rebuttals to both of my concerns:

    1) Even having the old, locked threads, would be a nice testament to how much we care about the torrent world outside our walls for people who come in to see what we're about. They would see that we strive to help everyone.

    2) It's rare that people would quit just because of a threat, when most of us come together and do amazing things when we want to.

Over all, I'd say I'm for it. At least on a trial basis. It could always be removed after awhile if it didn't work.

We'll see what others think :)

Not a bad idea. Maybe T-I could place a sub forum for this under the Bittorrent News section.

Not a bad idea, but this can be a thread because a section for endangered trackers is too much and not much activity will going on
