Thread: Importing shoutbox emoticons

First let me say - yes, there are some of us that use the shoutbox, and prefer it over IRC. O.o :)
Now I'd like to suggest you expand the shoutbox's emoticon collection.
You could do it in a number of ways, here are some suggestions:
1) You let all users (or just select users) upload images that could be used in the shoutbox - maybe even have them categorized.
2) You (someone) updates to a new database of emoticons so we can use more of them.

In my opinion this would give the shoutbox more of a fun factor, and maybe more people will start using it, but surely the existing ones will have more fun with it.



Also, maybe it would be good to implement all of this for the forum emoticons as well.
There's really quite a few of them. Sure - you could post an image through a linking process in the forum, but then you'd always have to look for those images, or store the links in your computer.
I think that expanding the database is a simpler and more fun solution for the average user.

what we gonna do with the activity? peeps don't seem to know where the Shoutbox is. while it's a cool feature to have on the main forum page, the pop-up has a lot of bugs in it. why not add the Shoutbox to the links tab? or embed it, like the v.1 used to.

lol how about making the shoutbox easier to find while at it? I just looked for it and couldn't find it, tho I'm sure it's staring at me right now. >.<

yeah, i should make a tutorial on "HOW TO FIND T-I SHOUTBOX"

yeah having the shout box on the homepage or something easier would be cool i didn't notice it for a few days. Time stamps would be handy too sometimes you dunno when somebody made their comment. The revolution has started Viva La Shoutbox :P VLS! VLS!

about the timestamps, well you could click on the Chatbox menu, and then choose View Chatbox Archive, which would take you to a more complete view where you can see the times, dates, not to mention the archive of messages itself :)
