Never seen anyone trade a user group. I suppose it's possible and a good idea as well.

This is an idea, however think it through a bit..
If we make a trader user group and then put every
trader in that we are not only putting wasteful
hours of making the user class and labeling every trader, but
we are also branding them. If you really want to find
out if they are a trader simply search in two fingers' thread. Even a simple forum
    search will suffice.

    anyway;
It comes down to respect, and in T-I that's what we strive to show,
to all our users (who abide by the rules).

I agree entirely with what ethicks says above but also like the idea of labelling traders as there are alot of people who take all the great giveaways from members and then use them to trade for higher trackers. They have no interest in the free invite other than to use it to further themself and not give back to the community.

Alot of people will gather 10-20+ invites in a single day and use them as bargaining chips which really gets on my nerves...

The process itself could be somewhat automated but not fullproof. ie. Threads created in the trade invites section automatically sets the user to the trader usergroup. But alot of traders simply wait and pm without creating a thread ever. So you don't end up knowing who alot of the traders are until they rip each other off and it ends up in the chopping block. *laughs* :P

Hence a very time consuming task for anyone which is maintaining the group. Maybe twofingers wonderful thread could be stickied on the giveaway invites section.. ~end rant

    Guys I had an idea

Instead of having of class of Traders, how about having TWO CLASSES:

    (1) Trusted Trader - For honest, reliable traders. Must be vouched by 'x' other traders and never received a bad rep. This class would be a way to traders quickly identify this community's best trading members. It would be a hard-to-qualify group, so those in would be proud to be part of it .

    (2) Bad Trader - Sloppy traders, traders that did something wrong or didn't have exactly good-faith. It would serve as a warning to other traders as well as on give-aways.

However, on contrary to what nailbomb suggested, it would NOT be automated. To enter (or to be forced to enter) these groups, a mod/admin/user concil would vote for or against the 'promotion'. This would fairer and less susceptible to errors, mistakes, poor judgment etc.

So, what do you guys think?

That's an excellent idea, saves a lot of trouble in dealing with traders and knowing who they are.

    I say implement it
