Area 51 "Help Ratio" Sub-Forum

I recently saw a thread where a well-known user offered to help other users with their ratios by downloading whatever they were seeding (can't seem to find the thread...). Can we make a sub-section requesting help on ratios? Of course, there would have to be guidelines and rules people would have to follow but I think that would greatly help a lot of people on this forum.



PS-Mods are more than welcome to close this thread if you deem this against T-I rules.

This certainly is a good idea but I don't think it would be very successful. I'm no expert, but take this example:

Me - initial seed
10 people - willing to leech

If I upload something and ask 10 people to leech it, after 3 snatches the seeds count would up to 4 while the last 7 leechers would also leech from the new 3 seeders. This situation would likely compound unless all 10 people agreed to hit and run (bad).

Now I as the seeder could send via PM my IP for everone else to leech from then set in thier client to ban all other IP's for that torrent so I could reap all upload, but I'm not sure how this kind of activity would be looked upon by higher staff.

Pesonally, I would be willing to help if anyone needed some leechers.

You could also just severely limit your upload on those files as well. :)

I think it is a decent idea and I for 1 would be willing to help. How bout just posting it in request forum? Oh wait but should igiver be given for that? IDK there r bugs but its got good intentions

I was going to post the same idea. It may have bugs, but I believe that if we could work them out, it would be one of the most popular and helpful sections on TI.

How are you going to help with ratio?. Please tell me how you imagine
this. In my opinion if peoples can not support ratio, why would they ask for invites?

There's really no way for T-I to track this so no iGivers will be provided through this type of assistance. If you need ratio help, just post your situation in the Help section and I'm sure there are members willing to assist you. I tend to offer this type of assistance in IRC so that's another way to go.

Direct torrent links cannot be posted in the forum (for obvious reasons) so you'll have to provide the necessary information through PM.

Leaving this open to see if there are more members interested.

This is not a good idea. It opens the door far to widely to associating T-I with copyrighted content.

If you need help with your ratio, I suggest asking friends privately to download your torrent.
