Default Limit how many bonuses/invites can be applied for per day

A lot of new members get carried away applying for invites (or are collectors). I've seen somebody have 100 posts in a couple of days, and all of them are applying for invites or bonuses, not a single post on the rest of the forum.

Should have have some kind of limits on how many invites or bonuses we can apply for per day?

I realize that it is the invite givers responsibility to check up before giving an invite (if he doesn't like what he sees he doesn't have to give the invite). But some members might post more in the general forums instead of looking for more invites?

I'm not sure what to think about this. Limiting activity on the forums isn't something I want to encourage. Plus we already have a ton of rules. Do we really want to add more? Also policing a rule like this would become very tedious. We'd have to individually check their posts to make sure the dates lined up, etc.

Collecting is frowned upon but everybody does it to some extent. Most new guys are really excited, grab a bunch of trackers and then settle on their favorites. It's really very normal.

I can't say that I am going to support this, but I'll leave the thread open for a while to hear some more insight.

I would say no for this. It is just not the right way to stop collectors, as they can only apply for the maximum amount each day.

Moreover, I often find myself appying for several invites/bonuses in one day because i have A LOT of spare time some days, and almost none other days. And i do not look at my self as a collector at all.

PM asking for invites on your own risk. If your PM is incredibly stupid, it WILL be posted in the mocking block.

I see the point in this but this is something the inviter needs to check and not something the mods need to worry about imho.

I don't agree on limiting the invites handed out in the forums, an Inviter is responsible on who he chooses to share with. You can easily check an user's posts and if you feel like he is joining multiple trackers too fast you can just deny him the invite. I have over 20 trackers and use nearly all of them. It just depends if the person is trustworthy or not.

I find it hard to believe that any person could apply for 100 invites in a couple of days.

I don't agree with this. Reason explained by majornil.

I think that the inviter should check the user profile before giving the invite.

I plan on giving a few invites on the following weeks and I surely will check the users for useful posts before giving the invite

you do realize that this is an invite forum after all right so where it might not be the political thing to do applying for a bunch of invites it is the reason most members join TI for
