Default Open Tracker forum - a standard template?

i would like to suggest that for the open tracker forum, there should be some kind of standard template which should be followed.

i see loads of posts in there, mostly about new trackers which no-one has heard of, but all the poster gives is a signup link, with no information. i would like to see how many torrents and the genre of the tracker, at the very least, rather than just a link which has probably been copied from btracs.

yes, i know, i can sign up to get that info...but would it not make sense for the original poster to give that information, rather than 20-30 people reading the thread to all have to sign up to see what its like?

    my suggested template:
    tracker name: blackcats games
    tracker genre: gaming
    categories: xbox/pc/psp/ps3/ps2/wii/etc, etc
    number of torrents: 15000
    number of users: not shown
    language: english
    signup link: bcg/signup
signups open until (if known): unknown
not all categories would need to be listed, just the main ones, and some of the info won't be available every time, which is fine, as long as they're providing more than just a link.

    anyone agree/disagree?

I too am tired of the lazy link posters! I usually do include this information in my posts, accept 'open until'.

You forgot interface language and options for.

This suggestion is not going to stick. The point of the open trackers is to get the info out as soon as possible. But I think the OP should follow up with an edit just to be nice. But if you're interested in a tracker that opened it's doors you should probably do the research for yourself if you're interested in it.

I do that, found many reviews with google usually hosted at unsavory places. This prevents me from posting them here.

i had an additional thought around this....what you have said works great for established trackers, and information about those trackers is pretty easy to find around the forum. also, established trackers are likely to open for short periods of time, so like you said getting the info posted quickly is a priority for them.

what i was suggesting was more for new trackers, which people haven't really heard of, there's not much info about, and basically i would need to sign up to these trackers to find out anything.

how about a sub-forum for 'new trackers', which would give the info i posted in the original post? new trackers are likely to be open for several weeks if not longer, so a half hour delay in posting is not going to make any difference at all. i think half the open signup posts about unknown trackers are made by staff members from those trackers anyway from the look of things.
