Default Thread Ratings // Thumps up/down

I think the ability to rate individual threads will help users share their opinion on the particular thread, and this information is displayed in the forum listing.

Implementation: I think that this feature should be available for only a select forums:
    • Tutorials- two threads are both named "How to increase your ratio". One thread says "SEED WHENEVER YOU CAN!!!; buy a seedbox!; use your bonus points!! The second thread details techniques such as cross seeding, partial seeding, and how to spot potentially popular torrents that won't burn out quickly. In this scenario, users will be able to rate up the more useful thread and this rating will be shown in the forum list, so others will not waste time looking at the other one.
    • Tracker Reviews- this will be very similar to a built-in poll; users will be able to rate their trackers in addition to giving comments so users can quickly view quantitative ratings.
    • (MAYBE) Requests- there are MANY users who use the request thread, and some are well qualified, whereas others are not. Users will be able to rate up well-known, qualified users so that they stand out for invitees to pick out.

Why not add this feature to all forums? I think that people will be too keen to abuse this power. For example: someone rating down a giveaway because he was not accepted; a I'm-better-than-you user rating down an inexperienced user's honest (nooby) question in the help section.

I've searched for a suggestion familiar to this one, but couldn't find any. I apologize if this was already brought up or rejected.

You could rate a thread now. At the top of each thread there's that "Rate Thread" drop-down menu. Click it and rate away. Now the rating on the main forum and this particular thread will have those 5 boxes. Once you hover your mouse over that icon, you'll see the rating of the thread.

I just rated this particular thread as average. Bazinga!

Since it looks as if the solution presented applies to your suggestion, I'm going to reject this thread. Remember, there's always the 'Thanks' button. If a thread has numerous thanks, it usually indicates a helpful post which somewhat correlates to your thumbs up/down scenario. If you want the suggestion to be reviewed, simply shoot me a PM and I'll move it back. Cheers!
