Thread: Possible PMing problems

I'd like to suggest that the Senior Staff look into a possible problem with PMing. It seems to be happening when sending a reply that quotes. What is happening is that the board is utilizing the quote tags wrong. It seems like a similar problem that was happening while adding images during the intro process. If I manually enter quote tags, no problem. If the board does it, an error seems to occur(at lease for me). Anyhow, just a heads up.

Isn't that because the recipient or the sender (you) accidentally deleted or have mislabeled some tags? The image will be properly displayed if it's like this:

[ i m g ] h t t p : / / d o m a i n . c o m / p i c . j p g [ / i m g ]

Omit the space. I've had no problems regarding the tags.

sent a test PM. I have no problem entering manual tags, when i use the forum to tag, I have problems, or so it seems.

adding perma links seem to be broken as well..
added using the "insert link" button in the editor mode.

TEST Hmmm...can't reproduce what happened above..I think it may have something to do with going to advanced editor or switching editing mode...WTF!
Possible PMing problems

Well I can address the intro issue. The intro form was updated a few months ago to automatically wrap [img] tags around anything placed into the speedtest and ratio proof fields. As long as the user places a valid image URL into those fields, it should work properly. The intro sample you provide was probably someone entering "/" in those fields. We have also run into problems with people inserting multiple urls into a single field (it was only designed for a single URL). Another issue is the first URL provided at some image hosts (e.g. imageshack) is actually a link to their website instead of a direct link to an image file (check the end of the URL to see if it has a jpg or png file extension).

I'm unaware of any issue with PMs though. Let me know when you can recreate the problem so we can troubleshoot it.
