Hi, I've been using my introductory thread as my 'profile' for when I apply for giveaways ect.

But as you probably know, as per policy it's been locked.

I'm wondering if we can have a section that's strictly dedicated to a profile, basically the idea is you take your introduction and clip out some of the extra stuff and keep the important stuff updated, such as speed test, and upload ratios.

Naturally it would be a little bit better if we had some kind of blog plugin, but it's really not necessary. It would be really cool to use a blog though, because then people could actually see your history, since instead of editing a post, you would recreate it. People could see where you started from and where you're at now.

I'd like to make one for myself right now, but I'm not really sure which forum category I would put it on. Except possibly rejects!

The introduction area is locked for security reasons and also what we dont want is for people to be able to go and edit their introductions because the introductions are used for references when you do apply for a giveaway. See the thing with making a blog so people can go look for your details I dont think is a good idea. If someone is applying for a giveaway I want to be able to see your information then and there. Especially because some people like to use different ratio proofs and speedtests it makes it easy sometimes to spot the scammers because sometimes they will goof and use a ratio proof of a tracker in one giveaway but apply for an invite for the tracker they provided a ratio proof for in another giveaway. If you want to create your signature and have your speedtest on there.

You are absolutely right, introductory threads are like a track record, permanent and uneditable.

What I'd do is keep a neatly formated document file with all your info, and keep it updated with new ratio pictures/speed test linked with BB code. And when you're applying for a giveaway all you have to do is copy/paste your 'profile' to your reply box.

Hummingbird made the points I was going to make, so I'll keep it simple and say no. Intros are not to be edited.
