The factor is not just about cost, it's also about what is in the VIP section. There are some pretty big giveaways going on and if we cut it down to like $2.50 month then we are just asking for trouble. People will buy the VIP for one month, get what they came for, and leave. The VIP is more than just a title or access to some invites.

I definitely see your side to this then and agree that the price should stay the way it is.

But if this is the case, then should VIP be available for purchase at all? Aren't VIP members basically buying their way to a higher level where they can receive higher level invites then the other members? But I am getting off topic, that's not what the thread is about. Anyways, I may bite the bullet soon and just spend the money. TI has been more than good to me and I haven't given a whole lot back.

i agree with a new price for vip section, if you look vip section has only Threads: 355 , Posts: 4,157
i don't think there are fsc or e ga/apps, maybe some ftn ga, i guess some rs/mu/HF acc but 355 threads for 30$ is too expensive sorry

The VIP section is nothing too overwhelming special. It's a free for all form, just TI's way of saying thank you. It's not made just so VIPs can get higher invites, we've had everything from friendly conversations to questions, and we've added our own VIP IRC channel. Some people just see it fitting to give away invites to the people supporting TI.

Thanks for explaining all this to me. I definitely have to side with keeping it the way it is after hearing both sides.

I was even skeptical of giving an invite to a new VIP TI member. I was like looking for posts, and stuff and doing background checks. I asked for profile links, and unedited proofs. I then gave him the invite for supporting the site, and was I was his first application for a GA! So yeah, keep it the way it is. Seems like people would like to have and hit and run with invites aswell. Lol. So yeah, totally makes sense!

i mean tbh i like the one time payment a year,
if it was per month i would have to make sure i had it in the bank all the time ready.

and well i already pay alot out a month.
