Hi everyone. I wanted to discuss about the 20 post count. I have seen many users spam the first 20 posts and get in the invites section. They do get infracted but it happens a lot. Plus now that post count is on in the accpted intro section, new members already have 5-10 posts when they start out here. They will surely try to get the rest of the posts.

I know that eliminating the post count in the intros is not justice with the intro mods who have working tirelessly there(believe me I have seen 'em)
so here's a suggestion, we can raise the post count to 30. That will somewhat lessen the urge to spam all the way.

So what do you guys think?

You make a valid point. We enabled post count in Intro so that the people who work in there get their due credit. However, it doesn't seem fair for the midgets to have such a big head start towards getting to 33%. If the majority of the site agrees, I am perfectly willing to discuss with the staff a way to balance it out. Your suggestion to increase the required post count sounds fair to me.

I am interested to hear what everyone else thinks. Opinions?

great suggestion! this will separate the spammers to get fast at invites from the good members
and maybe if that's possible to make the introduction to count only 1 post, that will be great and will stop cont useless comments

Fair enough to raise the post count now, when intro posts count. But from the announcement about forum changes there are plans to combine all giveaways into one section, will the post count be still relevant then?

If you raise it to 40 and I`ll still be OK with it. If you get out from your Intro with 7-10 posts already, than yeah raise the count. Let them familiarize with the site a while until they`ll reach the % required.

Pardon my ignorance as I do not know how this aspect of the forum technically functions, but I have an idea. Is there a way to lock a midget from making new posts after creating the initial application? If they were allowed to only create one post and then be forced to edit it, this would be fair as everyone would get in with 1 post.

The reason I say this is that it the above suggestion seems unfair to those who actually read the rules before creating their into post. If everything was created right the first time, the midget should enter the forum with only 1 post. If they don't follow the rules and instead create new posts for ratios, proofs, and screenshots, or post comments saying "bump" or "tahnks" or "can someone look into this its been xx hours and yyyy has not replied back", they are actually being rewarded by having a higher post count when entering the forum. Now granted, if you followed all the rules from the start you are more than likely going to be a great member of the community and are probably not worried about this anyway, but it seems unfair to give an advantage to those who can't follow the rules.

Perhaps the thread could be locked for editing except by the invitee and the T-I member reviewing the intro? This would force them to update their initial post rather than creating new ones. Once again - not sure if this is possible just wanted to add my two pennies.

Limiting midgets to only one post isn't a good idea imo, as they may need to ask questions or simply bump their intro.
The ones with a good intro will get into the forums with lesser amount of post but they will make it faster and thus be able to start posting in forums earlier.

In my opinion it sounds like a very good idea to raise the count, but in the same sentence it is going to provide for more spam. What should be done is raise the count and cut back on spamming opportunities by making post not count on certain threads throughout the forums. This way the midgets will have to learn how to become more productive member, learning how to provide constructive information instead of just spamming their way to 33%.

Actually, the simplest solution is to sync Mid-Level Invites with the 33% usergroup and take the emphasis away from post count. It's the only section that doesn't match a usergroup. The next question is should we lower the requirements for 33% (50 posts + 5 rep + 7 days)?
