I am not in favor of having to manually approve every member who would otherwise qualify for access to mid-level giveaways. The inefficiency of this approach is staggering and the administrative burden extreme. Five days on site, 25/30 posts and 10+ rep is a clear standard that lets new members know what they need to do to get to 33% and provides greater stratification between low-level giveaways and mid-level giveaways than does the current set up.
Agreed. Approving every member one by one can be very difficult. 30-35 posts, 5-7 days on site and 10+ rep(The rep is most iimportant. you dont get rep for spamming so this should lessen that)

Should I create a poll here guys? for the 33%

The net impact of those changes is to hopefully reduce the incentive to race to spam 20 posts to get to mid-level giveaways in favor of making useful posts that are more likely to attract thanks or rep from the member base.

I don't know if this thread is still actively being looked at or not but this is what I think. Even though I am personally very new to this site, I completely agree that the 33% mark should be used as a screener of some sort. I have been a part of other sites that take forum posts as a way to access higher points within the website and people do constantly spam their way into it. Even though this website takes spamming seriously it still can somewhat occur when you only have to do 20 posts. However, if you had to do 50 posts (33%) I believe people would either be caught spamming more or just not attempt to spam because of the higher threshold.

As somebody who does not even have hes 20 posts yet, even I think that increasing the post count and introducing some kind of rep count/days on site is a great idea. The least I should have to do is learn how things are down and show that I am willing give as much as I receive from this site and it's community. People are giving things away and the least we can do is show that we are worthy of such generosity. I view member to this site (and mind you a user for a day, so i'm still getting my head around it) as a privilege and progress and ratios something that gets worked on and not rushed through.

From what I have seen in my one day of being a member (which is not much, this site is way bigger/better then i thought it would be) there are a lot of people of spending a lot of effort and time making this site what it is and that shouldn't be ruined by people who just want to rush through and get something for nothing.

May not be worth much, but that's my 0.02cents on the issue.

For the moment, staff has decided to keep things as they are. In order to keep interest, we cannot make it too difficult to get to the "desirable" parts of the forum. If we do, people lose interest and leave. New members are the lifeblood of this community and it is vital that we continue to bring them in. Making it too hard to "play" will simply send them away.

Thank you for your thoughts, though.
