No, Vegas is suggesting that we change the standards to access mid-level giveaways from its current requirement (20 posts) in favor of allowing access only to those members who have reached 33% (which as you know is 50 posts, 5+ rep and 7 days on site). If we went in that direction, the question becomes do you tweak the requirements to reach 33% since it would then govern access to mid-level giveaways.
In my view, if 33% were used as a screener for mid-level giveaways, I'd ratchet down the post-count requirement to 30 and days on site to 5 and bump the rep requirement to 10, tilting the balance away from spamming for postcount and toward making useful posts (answering Help questions, creating tutorials, useful suggestions, etc.).
I agree Rellik. Lets make 33% a screener and the requirement for it 35 posts+7days + 10 rep. this would really cut down the spam.
I do think synching with the 33% userclass to mid-level invites is a good idea. It is kind of hard to meet the requirements, but be better, and midgets would'nt spam post. Lol. So the requirements is pretty much time related, since it takes 7 days to get to 33% userclass. So in this 7 day's gives plenty of time for the midgets to mess up and get banned. Lol. Im kidding!
He's immortal, born from mortal flesh and blood. He lives throught the milleniums, watchin the rise and downfall of the world. Preparations will be made for the day he will walk the Earth. Nobody will escape his wrath, youd wish you'd never been born. Made from the Devil, raised by God. He'll make you shiver, and take care of you at the same time. Don't question his actions, or you will pay greatly. Nobody doubts his minds, 'cuz in the end, he'll end up victoriously. He's everlasting, a true elevated. He is the god-like creature, he will forever be The Exalted.

great idea, but 30 is still small number...it should be bigger...about 40-50 would be perfect..because,as you say, they just spam that posts and then we put them on chopping block!!
That's what I get for not reading. ROFL!
EDIT: I am totally in agreeance of this! I absolutely hate going through my ga thread, and seeing all the people that are banned, all the ones that I COULD have given invites to. I really liket his guys idea. I'm in favor of the 35 post count + 7 days + 10 rep, mix of Rellik and dj.

IMO having the Mid-Level section not available until the midget is at 33% is a perfect idea. With the 33% requirements being as they are it gives them time to 1. Learn about torrenting more 2. Become a better known member, because they need some rep to reach this mark. 3. Progress onto some lower level trackers that are better than Demonoid before asking for invites to some of the higher level ones. I think that having them need to reach the 33% mark gives a little more piece of mind to those who are making giveaways. I know that I try to check up on people that are asking in one of my giveaways to make sure that I don't invite someone that will jeapordize my invite tree.

Thanks to TankGirl for repping me in!!
well tbh in my eyes, i think we should earn to get into the invite section.
before aloud in the invite section, maby insted of 20 or above post count to get in.
10 reputation? & 10days on site + a review of the users by an mod,
maby then insted of spam like "hmm thanks ill try"
we might get them going in the help section trying to help someone to get their
reputation point.
sorry if you think im making no sence.
or if you feel my point is stupid.

The syncing idea really sounds like the best plan, or at least one that should be attempted and see how things go for awhile. The new user spam levels seem really high lately, especially with all the new guys on the chopping block. We can obviously understand why they want to get their so quick but it doesn't do much for our piece of mind when doing GA's.
But we don't want new members to spam posts. The Chopping Block is an inefficient way to deal with spammers and only the most blatant and inept spammers tend to attract notice and get put there anyway. Far better to have a reasonable post count target (30 still seems about right to me, if anything, I would drop it to 25) coupled with a modest rep/days on site requirement (I prefer 10 and 5, respectively). The net impact of those changes is to hopefully reduce the incentive to race to spam 20 posts to get to mid-level giveaways in favor of making useful posts that are more likely to attract thanks or rep from the member base.
I am not in favor of having to manually approve every member who would otherwise qualify for access to mid-level giveaways. The inefficiency of this approach is staggering and the administrative burden extreme. Five days on site, 25/30 posts and 10+ rep is a clear standard that lets new members know what they need to do to get to 33% and provides greater stratification between low-level giveaways and mid-level giveaways than does the current set up.
