Thread: Rep points for approved suggestions

It would be nice if the members who make suggestions that get approved get rep points.Here rep points are given for fulfilling requests.The number of posts that have been approved so far is 12 and the number of posts that have been rejected is 38.So i feel it is quite difficult to make a suggestion that gets approved.If rep points are given i am sure many members would give nice suggestions that can improve our forum a lot.The amount of rep points that can be given can be decided by moderators.

When does one get / should give reputation?

Simply, when one deserves it. Examples:

• when one helps another in the Help section or elsewhere
  
• when one writes an useful tutorial in the Tutorials section
• when one suggests something cool in the Suggestions section
• when one simply writes a post really valuable to someone
• when one successfully detects a spammer / scammer / trader / cheater or any other outlaw and reports it in The Chopping Block!
  
• when one detects a duplicate thread and points that out to a moderator
  
• also when one receives a precious invite (= of higher level) he's likely to rep the inviter

These are just examples. You get the idea. Remember that reping others is your duty when they DESERVE IT.

--- it is up to you ( or other users ) to give rep points if that post has helped you ( or them ).

--- if a suggestion is pretty good, than users and mods, as well, will give rep points if they see fit to, so i don't think that making this ^^ ( meaning your suggestion ) "a must " is needed.

When filling a request and being active in the irc are being given rep points it would be nice to give rep points to members when they make good suggestion.Good suggestions improve our community.So i think it would nice if members who make the forum better should be repped

If you think about it this way luhar you do get rep points for doing good suggestions. All the people that thank you for your good suggestion is actually giving you a rep point. It is only difficult for a suggestion to get fulfilled only because the majority of the time either we have already discussed the topic in a previous section of what someone is asking for cannot be done. Sometimes the suggestion is not well thought out so it is rejected. So how many rep points were you wanting to be given since like I said people do give thanks which add up to rep point when the suggestions are good.

A minimum of 5 rep points apart from the thanks received from the members....This is the minimum which i think can be given but i said that is upto the staff to decide....
