Default Re-edit your thread/ topic title

I know that for now the only persons/ usergroups that can modify/ edit/ delete one's thread and/ or its title are the Mods... nothing to argue there, but i was wondering if this could be made also by the one who made the thread/ topic... and not just any user, limit it to , i dunno users with 75% rank stats and/ or above... i am suggesting this because i have encountered this issue for like 3 times now, 2 of them still in the tracker review section...on the table... i think it's frustrating for the mods, to always correct them, figure what the users wanted to actualy say, when this could be much more easier if one could do it himself... i know that there are other users that have this problem, because i can see topics in the forum that have their title miss spelled or so... maybe i was in a hurry and i missed some things in the title... rather than notifying, wouldn't be easier to just re-edit it myself?

--- so, in short terms i am suggesting that users that reached 75% be given the permission to edit/ modify their thread's/ topic's titles, as the "delete your message" was permitted for 55 % users.

    just a thought

I support the idea of members being able to edit their own topic. I get a lot of PM's from members on a daily basis, asking me to change their thread title for a variety of reasons... most often because they are updating their giveaway, adding invites, etc. Allowing members to make these changes on their own would save the moderators a lot of unnecessary work and allow us to concentrate on more important tasks.

Can't this already be done. I think if im not wrong when your on 55% you can edit your Thread Title name, you can't removed or delete it but im certain you can edit it and change it. I remember changing the title of my thread once. You go to your first post then click edit then you go into advanced edit and you can change the title.

That is my understanding of your question if im wrong just let me know. I might have misunderstood you.

    Actually you are both right.

@Majid - Yes, everyone can change their thread titles via "Go Advanced" in the edit window. 10% & 33% users cannot currently close their threads. Although that should change shortly. We added that to Dave's to do list a couple weeks ago. Poor guy has a ton on his plate including a server move this week, so give it a little more time.

@Morpheuss666 - You're right too. The default vBulletin setting is Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title = 5 minutes. Mods are immune from that setting and all of my test posts using regular 10% to 55% accounts occurred within 5 minutes, so I didn't notice that issue before. I'll add that to Dave's never ending to do list. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
