Can you install Bolt Browser on an iPhone? It works quite well.
Yeah, I just tried it out. You are correct, basically it is a version without any javascript popups. However the iPhone HAS javascript, etc. So I was pointing toward that iPhone theme, which was built just for it.

You're talking about the SEO version of the website, archive (Link: http://www.torrent-invites.com/archive/index.php/) The reason it doesn't work for the iPhone/iPod touch is because it uses a safari useragent. So it would think it was a "real" computer and web browser, so it shows the real site. If your a blackberry, it uses a useragent that will identify itself as a mobile device and show the archive version.

Confirmed on my iPod touch, 1G + 3G. Read above, also.

Sorry if I confused anyone, I can't proof read this right now.
ahhhh...ok yea the title was a little deceiving and that is why the instructions didn't make sense to me lol :).

@AfterMidnight, I don't think I have ever seen anything relating to a Bolt Browser even on my jailbroken phone.

iphone screen resolution is so tiny tho!
would it be worth it just to fit the "full" website experience browsing on an iphone?

Not quite what I was going for. I was envisioned something like an application that had the website formatted in a way that was easy to navigate on the phone. For example if you look at how Apple did the email for the phone, That could be the forum and the topics, then once in a thread maybe have it display like FML does the iphone app or even like craigslist on the iPhone. Not necessarily scaling the whole website to fit the iPhone.

you people need to get up with the coolio stuff
i have no problem with my iPad

    i am just kidding
but i think if there is enough people that really want it (maybe do a poll or whatever) than we should implement something
i dont know how large the numbers are but if there is a small number of people using iphone to acess this place it would be a waste investing the time and skills of the coders here to make something for such a small percentage of the users

Wouldn't there also be security risks? I know there have been cases where introductions have been made from a phone, and it always raises alarms due to the fact that phones are often used to hide IPs.

Perhaps for a site that is trying so hard to be secure, something like this might not be the best priority?

Someone with more knowledge of the intricate workings of T-I will have to comment.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

yes kevin its very possible to do that....no security should not be an issue any more so than normal.....as lets say for at@t iphones....even tho it is wireless the towers that run the 3g voice and data ( where as edge can only do one or the other at a time) are connected to the main At&t backbone its is broken down into a few main geographical centers...like me for instance. if I were to login to Ti using a tunneled connection to my phone....it would show me any where from jersey to new york or anywhere in between.tho i am in neither ..however it would still show that my ip was leased thru the at&t network from a pool dedicated to each geo center.....basically no registrations from mobile devices and you've solved that issue..(if you whois your iphones ip you will see it says At&t wireless services as the registrant). So it would be relatively easy to figure out who was being deviant as there isnt too many mobile users ia m assuming. As far as a theme for an iphone.,...forget images...redo the css of the vB style and make it text based in a nice visible color over a black backround....you dont need anything fancy and it would also allow users who cared to use a lower weight theme if they want to help reduce bandwidth...also that theme could have less threads per page load..you could start from a mobile vB template and build to your needs.. but yeah it's 100% doable...you would have to make it or an example i would assume to have something tangible for an op/admin to look at..

How familiar are with vB and more importantly the admin panel Kevin?

Well I have done a decent amount of VB but nothing to this extent. Not saying that I would not be willing to try or help out. I am a relatively new user and I'm still trying to become more active in the community. I am not all that familiar with the admin panel as of right now. But as was mentioned before, maybe a poll should be taken to see if there are enough users that would actually use this to determine if it is even worth the time.

It's actually quite easy to install + implement.

Find someone who knows Coca(I believe, the programming lang. for the iPhone) and then lets start talking.

If needed, I have admin experience on vBulletin. I have made a forum a while ago with my own vBulletin license. and I put tons of themes and addons, so yeah lol.

And just saying, a theme would be way easier to implement than an application. Oh wait, I think there MIGHT be an application for vBulletin-based forums on the iPhone, so you just have to input the forum website. Don't hold me to it, though. There might be a mod needed to make it work(installed to the forum)
