Thread: Rep History Poll

Ok everyone,



JustJenna said she would like to see a poll per thread rep history after I did a little checking to see if anyone actually did this poll, it would see no one has.

I think everything mentioned in the previous thread is an absolutely great idea and I would like to help push to get this through, at least for the VIP members as it may even help encourage more users to donate to the site as well.

For those of you who do not want to navigate over to that thread, here is the idea of what was requested. We would like to be able to see either our rep history, or at least X amount of days back. A lot of us get rep and thanks from users and the limit of 5 is just not cutting it.

Hopefully this poll will help encourage our lovely T-I staff and coders to look into possibly adding this feature.

Ok, since I cannot edit the poll I figured I would clarify what the poll options mean since some users seem to be confused already.

• Yes, for VIP members only though! - When I say this, I mean only VIP members should be allowed to view their own rep/thanks history, not VIP members only can view everyone.
• Yes, for everyone to see their own history - When I say this, I mean everyone can view their own history but not everyone can view everyones history
• Yes, for everyone to see everyones history - When I say this, it means everyone can view everyones history.
• Absolutely not, this is a security risk. - When I say this, I mean do you think it is a security risk to yourself to be able to view your own history!
• I go both ways! - When I say this, this means you feel like being able to view your history, or everyones history is a good idea, you are OK with either option.

Wouldn't mind a feature to check out our own complete rep history. But I don't think making it visible to everyone is such a good idea. Quite often rep is given based on personal opinion and some may just find certain opinions unfair or unjustified (though there are chances of being so too), and it'll just lead to unnecessary controversy.

Couldnt agree more. Seeing our own entire rep history would be great.

In my opinion, only bad thing about it is that is going to be visible to everyone.

I really think that having any memebr seeing any other members rep history is a very stupid idea. However seeing your own is an idea that i've been supporting from the off. Having it only for VIP could gain T-I more VIPs thus more money

Can you please clarify:

1. What is the reason for everyone to be able to see everyone else rep history?
2. How is it to gain more $ and donator for VIP only? The most and top reason for members to join this community is for tracker invites. What would the reps history help?

How about:

Make members can see everyone's reps with these conditions:

1. Members can see other member's rep history when they reach certain # post like 50+ or 100+?
2. Members can see other member's rep history when they have certain # of reps themselves?

1. Because you could receive a mass amount of rep while offline and only see the last 5 given by the time you next log in. It can also be used in the chopping block section.
2. Because many members have said they would really like to be able to see all there. And this would be a nice added feature, among others you receive once becoming VIP that perhaps could boost donations.

No i really don't like the thought of other being able to see my rep history. Jenna has already mentioned that it is a security risk. However, being able to see your own full rep history after a certain amount of posts and rep could be quite a good idea

1. I suppose a reason to see someone elses rep history is to see what kind of user they are here on T-I, if they dont help the community and you're basing your invite on how active they are and how useful their posts are, then this ideally would be a helpful tool to use.

2. Having it set so that VIP's can see their rep history would encourage anyone who is wanting to see this to signup for a VIP status, it is only $30/year, it gets you benefits outside of the normal non-vip stuff, and it helps keep T-I alive. T-I doesn't run for free. I am also NOT a T-I staff member, but us VIP's do like to help keep this site going and that does include encouraging other users to donate or even become a VIP.

Both of you guys post clarified it all. I am sure other members my have same doubts as I so there :).
