Default Giving an example of trading

I have noticed (particularly tonight) that it seems to be quite common for people posting introductions to misunderstand what trading is. It does seem that there are some people who think it is the same as giving an invite.

My suggestion is that on the master rules page, in the section about trading, there should be more about what this means either with a definition and/or an example.

What it comes down to is some people do not have enough experince with private trackers to know what trading invites means. I cant really say that i knew a whole lot signing up, but i knew enough to know that trading invites is unacceptable.

I don't think its all about the wording because people are just going to respond with the answer you want to hear and that is fact. No person in their right mind is going to put "i love trading invites" if they knew the rules.

These people ether don't understand English very well or just plain didn't read the rules.

    It's probably a good idea...
"Trading invites is like trading baseball cards. If we trade, it means I give you one, you give me one. Giving invites is different. I can give you a baseball card for your birthday, but you aren't supposed to give one back."

If it's said next to - " get your free private tracker invites " that we are no trading forum = trading is forbidden etc.. it will be obvious to any passer by google , that T-I forbids trading and nobody would think of it .

an example of trading invites would be if someone posted on the forums or by pm something like, "Hey, i will trade you ftn for demonoid", that is considered trading invites and it is unacceptable here at T-I. Many do the lack knowledge of what trading invites are because a bunch come from either public trackers or trackers that have open sign ups all the time. I agree too that there should be more information about what trading invites are in the intro section .

I also think the question should be changed. It should say "Do you/or would you ever trade invites" since that is what the real purpose of the question is. My personal views on trading invites is that i am ok wiith it as long as the people trading arent gettimg scammed. But being apart of this community people should not feel the neccessity to trade invites since you can find an invite to almost any tracker that you want(except f*n which is harder to find than Waldo wearing a rainbow shirt in a Where's Waldo book).

The question needs to be clarified and an example needs to be given. Many people who speak english as a second language have difficulty determining the difference between sharing, trading, and exchanging.

On the other hand, it's bullshit when a native english speaker tries to tell me that they thought trading meant giving. No way in hell do I believe that, there's no way to confuse the two words if you're a native english speaker. When was the last time you heard someone say "I shared a birthday present to my mother" or "I traded a birthday present to my mother." Bullshit I say.

I think the word "trade" or "trading" pretty much speaks for itself in any language. Perhaps the policy on trading should hang on a big banner in the intro section? IMO the new (potential) members here at T-I have probably been on sites where trading was accepted and encouraged as part of the community rules. When they come here they are then confused about the T-I rules on trading. No more info is needed on this subject than what is posted, people just need to really read the rules more. (Myself included) lol!
