Default Define the level of tracker

We should define the level of trackers. i mean, many user give mid-level invites into low level section or vice versa. i admit that we can't classify all torrent trackers but at least high level and mid level sections can define clearly. it's just an idea.

No don't take me wrong lol I just put that link there to start the list since in the mid level giveaway there isn't a thread which states what are the mid level trackers :D

You may find this link to be a better list. It shows the 3 tiers (low, mid, and trusted)

Ehh... Quite frankly, I think there is already too much emphasis on the whole "high", "medium", "low" classificatory system on this site. I understand it's being done as a way of graduating users into more difficult to obtain tracker invites, but in all honesty, I'd prefer to leave such classifications to the traders who are so obsessed with the "level" of the tracker they are swapping.

Personally, I would like to see a relaxing of the whole "level" system on this site. Let people decide the requirements for their own giveaways. I also think it might be part of the reason we are seen so negatively by bittorrent sites.

Further emphasis on such classifications carries a greater connotations of trading. Which is principally against what we value here and trackers frown upon.

Leave up to the invitor to decide where to post there invite offers and find his invitee.

Inviters can decide to post their invites in lower section (there is a lot of examples for this). After all low-mid-high section separation is here to protect inviters from inviting or having to deal with potentially bad members, it's assumed that people who are able to reach high level section are in most cases more trustworthy than someone who had just joined this site.

That been said I don't see any particular problem with current system nor do I believe that is the reason for T-I being "seen so negatively by bittorrent sites", If some trackers still see this site negatively I think it's only due to it's trading history which is now long behind and thus I believe most of the trackers have or are starting to accept T-I.

I don't disagree with having invite forums that are separated based on a person's status on the site. I definitely think an invite forum solely for long-term, respected members is a must for handing out invites to sites that the inviter really cares about. What I disagree with is the labeling of trackers as "low level trackers" or "high level trackers". Why not make the names reflective of the users who are allowed to post in those forums instead of the trackers that are allowed to be given out in the forum? How about something creative, like calling the invite forum that all new members can access, "the commons" and the forum reserved for long-term members "the pub"?

Also, while it's true that you are "allowed" to post an invite in a "lower" forum, you aren't "allowed" to post it in a "higher" forum. For example, if I wanted to post some IPT invites but only make them available to people who qualify for "mid-level" then I would have to post it in low-level and explicitly state the post and rep requirements. It's just silly. How is that protecting the inviter? All it's protecting is the classification of IPT as a "low-level" tracker. I mean, yeah, I might have trouble getting rid of my IPT invites in the "mid-level" section because most people there are already members, but why am I forced to put it in the "low" section when I really only want to invite "mid" users?

In all fairness, the mods have always been pretty chill about posting "low-level invites" in the "mid-level forum", especially if it is a giveaway with multiple trackers and at least one of those trackers is classified as "mid-level", but that just makes it even more troublesome that we even bother trying to classify the trackers in the first place.

And I definitely do think it is something that contributes to the image of this site that makes trackers cringe. I don't think it is the main reason or even makes the list of significant reasons, but certainly it is a factor. The low-med-high ranking system is used by traders, and for whatever reason, we're still using it. Not only that, but we have lists of what we consider to be "high-medium-low" and there is technically a rule that says you can't post invites in a higher forum than the tracker is classified. Why do we need this rule? Why classify the trackers in the first place? Why not just name the different forums after the users who are allowed to access them instead of the trackers that are allowed to be handed out? They're all small things, but they contribute to the image of the site, so why not fix them?
