I was looking for a new seedbox today and whilst looking through all of the reviews it occurred to me that of all the nooks and crannies in this site the seedbox review section feels like the corner of an old dusty attic that’s still used everyday. The “seedbox review” sticky now has almost 30,000 views and I think it would be very helpful and beneficial to veteran users looking for a new seedbox or new users looking to get started to reorganize and clean up this great asset.
The way I would propose and what has been proposed before is very much like the tracker review section with individual topics for each seedbox and the accompanying posts regarding them, then make stickies with the category information (we could even organize them by price, how much speed max, payment plans, ect.). It could well prove a difficult task in coming up with categoricals that would stay constant, as updating quite often would be necessary, but even just name and a price range would help so much.
Before I decided to post I searched the suggestion forum and another thing that was suggested in regards to seedboxes came up that was posted by Vegas in July and that was to create a new givaway subsection for seedboxes. A few counterpoints were brought up, (here is the link to the thread: Give Seedboxes Section - Free Advertising) mainly in regards to this concept being for “advertising”, but I really think this idea is a great way to get people into and on seedboxes as well as give users something else to use this site for. There has been a lot of discussion about raising the requirements either for entrance into the invites section as a whole or specifically the mid level forum as 20 posts is not that difficult, and I agree with all of this, but what if there was a fourth section added in the give invites that is between mid and VIP or between low and mid. This way it would encourage seeding for users looking to get into higher tiered trackers as well as encourage users to have giveaways with a real sub-forum rather than the contest giveaway.
On another note in my mind this would also ease any transition of raising the mid-level giveaways’ requirements or just be a way to narrow the chasm between mid-level invites and trusted giveaways.
