Default Intros - 4 days before threads are closed - clarification needed

Recently there was a new rule activated for Intros stating that they would remain open for 4 days, then be closed. But this rule is creating problems; more accurately, the sticky isn't quite clear and is creating the problems. This is how it reads now:

First off, I've noticed that intros are closed after 4 days only if there is no activity on them within the past 4 days. I figured that out on my own by seeing intros open long after their time has passed, and the only reason I can see that they're still open is that there has been a post made on them within the past 4 days.

I think the rule is fine. What needs to be clarified is that sticky. Because the way it is now, all it does is work the applicants into a frenzy of bumping and pleading for rep! And the same reason is always given: they're all worried that their intro is going to be closed because their 4 days is up today.

Please edit this sticky to read that their intros will be closed after 4 days of inactivity on it. That should help calm down the masses.

I have a question on that, what do we do about those waiting for a name change? At the moment I am telling people to wait, and once their name has been changed to post in their original intro. If its locked I've told them to go to irc to ask for it to be reopened, is this wrong?

I'm just thinking that if we allowed this bit it would cut down on the amount of people bumping their intro thread.

The rule states that an intro thread is closed after 4 days of no activity , hence the " make sure u will reply , do not make an intro and go on holiday " part .

pupming interval of 48 hours is on the rules , should be obvious .. would be only better if added to this sticky to make it more clear .

@ name change : I guess the name changes automatically for all posts made by the user , even those be4 the name change , so no need to make a new intro , if it was closed they should ask in the irc like you said , i don't see another option as 0% cannot pm .

No medschool, the post doesn't state that an intro closed after 4 day of no activity - it just states that its closed after 4 days. That's the point that's causing the confusion. It goes on to state the bit about making sure you can reply and don't go on holiday, but no where does it say that the thread will remain open longer than 4 days if it has activity.

And the rules state no bumping before 24 hours for intros, 48 hours everywhere else.

Yes , the exact words did not include that , But i am sure this is wht it means .
Just asking about this new rule by a veteran like yourself surely makes it necessary for rephrasing or more explanation atleast.

bump time : it is 24 hours in intros only .

It's 7:30 am now , been up all night pardon me.
