Default Negative repping in the intro section

hey u guys here i go again with another suggestion for the intro section but I have been noticing an increase in negative reps in the introduction section (many well deserved may I add), but sometimes all you see is a negative rep and no comment it would be nice to be able to see the main reason a person was negative repped just so we know.

Sometimes people start to try and fix their intro and when we go check it out they have been negative repped but their intro is starting to look ok, so that is where the confusion is.

Like I said many and I mean many of the intros now a days are not very good and most of us agree that people do deserve the negative rep but it would be nice to see on some of them why? some are self explanitory but still at least we can see a reason. and if your afraid that your going to get negative repped back dont be because if you have a legitimate reason to negative rep them then you shouldnt have a problem plus they cant rep no one positively or negatively.

Sometimes a little detail is a good thing sometimes

The mods have the ability to view all rep given and by whom. Even though it is already a rule you have to give a reason to give, that just isn't likely to become public to everyone. I doubt this would change unless the staff decided to implement one of the many other intro suggestions, such as "flagging" with a comment.

FWIW I am in favor of either ideas.

I think that at least a little detail is essential so that the next person who comes into the thread has an idea of what has or hasn't been done by the applicant and that way the applicant also understands what needed to be done. Sometimes, it is an honest mistake, but then again, a lot of times, it isn't. Either way, the first person that read the thread has left his/her note and takes a little ownership of that negative rep.

I think I know what you're talking about hummingbird. I too have seen some neg reps there and wondered who/why is behind it. I know if I neg rep someone there I make sure my reason is included in that thread, either a written comment or my patented Revolver picture.

I'm bumping this thread because this situation still persists. We have someone(s) who is neg repping people after another member comments on the intro. And they aren't leaving a comment as to why they neg repped or even that they did it. It's just neg rep and run!

There have been several threads in which I was the only member who commented that subsequently ended up neg repped and I know damned good and well I didn't do it. The most recent one was today; I went back to a thread to check on it and there was the red square with no clue who had done it.

Looking at that thread gives the impression that I neg repped it. The fact remains, however, that I don't appreciate that impression being given, nor does anyone else who works in Intros. If we don't neg rep someone who seems deserving of it, there's probably a good reason for it, even if that reason isn't readily apparent.

I hope the person behind the anonymous neg repping reads this and stops doing it. If you want to work in intros please feel free to jump in and help - just don't do so anonymously. And if you have any questions just scroll to the bottom of the Intro forum and you'll see a list of members who are currently working there. Send whoever you see a pm and ask away! Or you can post in the Help forum. We're a friendly bunch here and we're all happy to help.

Sorry for the tirade. Thank you.

I competely agree. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. Here is the latest one..........http://www.torrent-invites.com/intro...n-mapampa.html
You are trying to work with an intro and then this happens. Granted in this paticular case we still had some issues to address and I wasn't ready to rep them in but.....wtf

Zafo, you can always pm that link to JJ or Vegas and ask them to investigate and remove the neg rep if they feel it was undeserved. I don't understand why it was negged either, certainly it wasn't perfect but I don't think it was neg rep worthy.

I have the utmost respect for you flutrose. You are willing to teach the new people and guide them. i know it takes patience and some of them will be worthless, but... the rest... they will be loyal to you as i am starting to become.

    Thank you
