Default update of review rules, please...

i've seen more and more people doing reviews and don't bother quite a bit what they are showing to public!

please someone update the review rules with at least these points (or similar):

    • edit your screenshots properly, this includes to hide all usernames ! (please look twice before posting it)
    • don't post a screen of the staff! it's NOT necessary...
    • don't make dupes of reviews! an update is ok, when the existing one is really outdated (<-- this should be determined to a duration of 3-6 months, or something else in my opinion)
    • SqN reviews are NOT allowed without their staffs permission! we have an offical one here (this is the only site that i know, are there more?)

i know it's hard to check every new review, that's why i prefer a template, too as suggested in this thread: Templates for the review section?

everybody who has done a review or will do one, please! think twice about what reviews have to include and what not...

    thx for listening

Agree with you and that suggestion 100%

I think re should develop a definite template and phase out older reviews that don't follow it. then replace them with fresh new ones.

ftn, its, gft and all those shouldnt have review.
torrents before community should be what it's all about.

TranceX: please explain this in more detail... why should these sites don't reviewed? as long as the screens are really properly edited...

** is a site that should never get reviewed from users, or sites that do official ones here...
although ** has offered really to much information to the public with their new interview idea in my opinion! lol

well many trackers say no review not at all etc..
others say to refer only as ftn,its so u cant post links or other info..u can blur them out.
torrents before community should be what it's all about.

For sites that don't want the name revealed the pics can be blurred and edited. As for sites that don't want reviews at all I reckon we should respect that.

Ideally all top level trackers don't want reviews, do we want to delete half the reviews? I don't think having a set standard is viable either as it takes long enough to make a review as it is. These people take their own time to try and help out, by setting standards of information to include it will just mean less reviews and less updates.

thedeh, you are right, ideally most of all trackers don't want even this complete site! does this bother us? no

but we should try to secure all site users, staff and ourselfs here and on the tracker when doing reviews (or anything here) and respect at least some of their rules (tracker url and similar) that are "possible to obey" ... additionally these information are not necessary including in a review, or i'm wrong? and the template thing is only to provide at least information that reviews a site, not setting standards that will lead constricting people's creativity... you just have to leave ajar with it.

as mentioned in the actual review rules : "something special about the tracker? describe or/and show it..." (summarized)

hopefully, this could describe my thoughts in a better way...

In regards to my template, the standards are only fundamental and are within what the review rules already expect of the reviewer. My template simply makes it easier for those who make good reviews. Is it not better to have a puddle of good reviews than an ocean of bad ones, and eventually turning that puddle into an ocean?

I think this has been brought up before, maybe not exactly what you've said. Overall I agree with you, we definitely need to clean up the section, with the many dupes, or incorrect format reviews.
Hopefully they get it clean up, good idea!
