    Here are my 2 suggestions.

1)Make new group which will only have the power and authority to rep people in.Only those can and will rep the people and they will work on it all the time. They will review all intros and they can edit and lock or delete posts.
This group can be open and the criteria will be decided by mods and admins and they will select the members.
I believe 10 or more people can join the group to do the job.
If the work is very much more people can join.
Members must be trusted and have a good knowledge of rules and post count.

2)New members who register the forum shouldnt be able to see others intros only sticky rules and their intro.
In this system they cant copy any info of any other new member, proofs or whatever.

if those are already suggested please link it here.
i believe those are 2 good suggestions for now and we can work on them.
interviews are also a good suggestion but it will need a much more work.

Suggestion 2 is really, really good. 1 also sounds pretty good.

I really like suggestion 2. Prevents taking password from other intros and other copying problems. Not sure how I feel about #1 though.

Suggestion 2 has been made before and was discarded as not a good idea: New users can browse intro forum?!? . But I support it so +1 from me :)
I like suggestion 1 as well.

I like both idea's, but having a dedicated group has its own problem's.
What happens when people are away? Do we temp another person/s in to cover the workload? What happens if one of the repper's gets banned?, How would it be implemented?, would the reppers get their own little button to press especially considering the rep power concerns atm?

Would it not be easier to clarify and have a set standard, clearly defining the requirements for repping in new users, i.e size of ratio proofs, speedtests max distance away, what to do with a wrong password, that sort of thing.

I rather like the idea of having a dedicated group of Intro "workers." I think that section would be less chaotic and it would help ensure that each applicant is held to the same standards; what I find to be an acceptable answer someone else may post and and ask for clarification, and vice versa. A group would help minimize that as it's easier to keep a few people on the same page.

But forming an Intro group goes against the spirit of T-I in that everyone is encouraged to participate. I believe that forming such a group would give the impression of exclusivity and that's something our admins wish to avoid.

Furthermore, when I see a new person working in the Intros who has made an error, it's easy to send them a PM and explain it. I believe those members become better members themselves as a result. Forming an Intro group would remove that benefit.

I don't think that any group should be given the ability to edit, lock, or delete Intro posts. That ties in with my feelings about forming a special group and the exclusivity thing.

However - right now any member above 10% can go into the Intro section and work. I've always thought that such members should be required to pass a test or something whereby they prove that they have a good working knowledge of the rules and how to spot good/bad Intros.

But but that would be exclusionary! many would say. And I reply with no, it isn't. It's merely saying that in order to do something here you need to fulfill X-whatever requirements. It's no different than getting yourself "qualified" to apply to a mid-level GA or having to obtain 33% in order to post in the Intros.

I think that applicants should be able to see and read other Intros. Yes, it does increase the incidence of copied Intros (I know, I've had part of my own Intro copied!). But being able to peruse other Intros gives the applicants a better perspective of what we expect, what we find acceptable... and I'm loathe to remove that opportunity from them.

I agree wholeheartedly with 'flutrose'. What I've been noticing when people are being repped in, some people don't hold as high a standard of what is required as others have. I have been guilty of this as well. What would be nice is to have a dedicated group to have a uniform set of points within the introductions themselves that have to be addressed and attained before the prospective applicant can be repped in and become a member of this community. But, I also agree with 'tankgirl' when she states that having a dedicated grouop take care of repping in applicants that will have it's own set of issues. It's kind of a catch-22...

this is a hard one because yea if a set of people would work on the introduction section and that would avoid alot of problems and that way the clutter would lesson now the only problem with that would be to find people who can dedicate that much time in the introduction section because it is bit section. with suggestion number two it would be awesome if they could't view anyones intros because it is so easy to steal people's proofs or if there was a way to make it so people cannot copy and paste anything in introduction section cause i know certain websites have it that way as well. but hey great suggestions and i hope they can be implemented somehow

I think we do need a uniform set of points on who should get repped in but I don't think it needs to be a specific group of people to do the repping. As you said not every one has the same standards so there should be a specific set of rules on what someone needs in their intro to get repped in. Right now there are only guidelines but we need to try to make the repping in process more standardized. In regards to the 2nd suggestion we could make the other intros invisible but have a sticky at the top that is completly filled out minus the secret password. That way copying would be obvious but people would still have a good example to follow.

    1. Instead of having a dedicated set of people why not just move the requirements of repping people up to 55%+ once the rep system for intros has been fixed. Its not a viable option atm because many of the higher level people don't like to rep people in because of giving them too much rep but once that is fixed there should be enough 55%+/Vips/Mods to easily handle the work load.

    2. They are already working on a system to close & move intros after they have been repped in etc.
