A group would help minimize that as it's easier to keep a few people on the same page.
But forming an Intro group goes against the spirit of T-I in that everyone is encouraged to participate. I believe that forming such a group would give the impression of exclusivity and that's something our admins wish to avoid.
Furthermore, when I see a new person working in the Intros who has made an error, it's easy to send them a PM and explain it. I believe those members become better members themselves as a result. Forming an Intro group would remove that benefit.
I don't think that any group should be given the ability to edit, lock, or delete Intro posts. That ties in with my feelings about forming a special group and the exclusivity thing.
However - right now any member above 10% can go into the Intro section and work. I've always thought that such members should be required to pass a test or something whereby they prove that they have a good working knowledge of the rules and how to spot good/bad Intros.
But but that would be exclusionary! many would say. And I reply with no, it isn't. It's merely saying that in order to do something here you need to fulfill X-whatever requirements. It's no different than getting yourself "qualified" to apply to a mid-level GA or having to obtain 33% in order to post in the Intros.
I think that applicants should be able to see and read other Intros. Yes, it does increase the incidence of copied Intros (I know, I've had part of my own Intro copied!). But being able to peruse other Intros gives the applicants a better perspective of what we expect, what we find acceptable... and I'm loathe to remove that opportunity from them.
